Game 1: Anytime vs Midas on Peaks
Both players were looking to end with pristine 3-0 records, but only one could. Anytime got off to a good early start, stealing gas and putting down a manner pylon. His zealot harass did not do much damage, but allowed him to expand quickly. In a fast switch, Midas changed to MM with his reduced gas, and fought his way up the map killing many expansion probes.
From this point on, Anytime expanded twice and started a carrier base at 12. Midas, using his great sense of timing pushed north with his metal army just before the protoss air could be effective. He shattered Anytime's economy, and then out macro'ed the Lecaf star with a stream of goliaths. Midas moves on and will choose his opponent in the next round.
Midas > Anytime.
Game 2: FBH vs ChoJJa on Arcadia
Arcadia is 8-0 ZvT, leading one to believe this would be an easy game for ChoJJa. Well, he almost let it slip away as FireBatHero surprised the double expanding zerg with a wraith build. While his initial harass was successful, FBH didn't know when to turn to MM, and his wraight harass became less and less effective. By the time he made the switch to MM and tanks, ChoJJa had cought up too much. With little in the way of expansions, FBH got run over by hydra/lurk and kept the Arcadia imba alive.
ChoJJa > FBH
Game 3: TT vs Shine[Name] on Arkanoid
Although it was PvT, Arkanoid is a map where you can never take a build for granted. EverTT proved that by opening with 2 gate zealots, who promptly went smashing through neutral buildings to the wrong corner of the map. However, by the time he got centered on his terran target, he still had more than enough troops to cause serious damage. Shine defended with mass scv and bunkers, and try as he might, the zealot/goon army of EverTT could not break through.
From that point on, the tide changed as the superior terran economy kicked in. A massive terran drop leveled the protoss main, and EverTT punched GG. After blowing it last week against BadFriend and this weak vs Shine, his new nickname may be the choke artist.
Shine[Name] > EverTT
Game 4: Sea[Shield] vs Jju on Tau Cross
Sea was put back on his heels early this game with Jju's two hatchery muta/ling build. However, he had started with a two rax/academy trigger himself, so was able to fend off the enslaught. Jju tried his best for ten minutes, but was unable to prevent Sea from taking his natural. He punched GG before Sea ever attacked.
Sea (3-0 in group o_o) > Jju
Game 5: Jy vs NaDa on Tau Cross
NaDa pulled out some old school tricks on Jy, the youngster that beat NaDa in the minor leagues. Predicting some sparks MM, Jy went heavy on the choke sunkens, and was thus unable to do anything about the dropship unloading MM in his main. A rare build these days? Maybe, but NaDa showed it is still effective as Jy was never able to recover. Fast game.
NaDa > Jy
Game 6: GGPlay vs Iris on Arkanoid
Iris tried a metal build in this one. You know why people dont go metal in TvZ? It doesn't work. Especially not at a pro level. By the time Iris recovered from muta harass and built an army, the mini map was a dab of green and a sea of red. GGPlay didn't just take the map, he OWNED the map. Iris would never have been able to find a place to attack, and got hammered by never ending waves of zerg pulp.
GGPlay > Iris
