Hey TL, i need you help!
K, I'll be starting to work soon and I need a suit. I got a suit as a gift from my Mom but its from korea so the shoulders are a little tight, makes me look small. I'm looking to buy a new suit, my budget is $500.
I live in Canada and IDK where to buy a good suit or which brand. If anyone can help me out, appreciate it!

Check out brooks brothers during boxing day, they usually have huge semi annual sales in the states, which might fall on boxing day in Canada

I hit up a brooks brothers outlet for my last buy one get one deal. Awesome suits. two thumbs up. A little pricey, but they fit like a dream after tailoring. The material they make them out of has just a tad bit of elasticity, and for a 500 budget, they are by far the best quality you will find in that range.

thx, where is the bb outlet located

Any advice on picking jeans? Generally speaking I don't like skinny fit stuff as I'm a little broad-shouldered/barrel-chested and it makes me look top heavy. Want to get a nice pair, will spend some money, generally prefer really dark jeans.

not so sure about extra fine merino, it's not as soft and not as durable. uniqlo has some solid efm/lambswool sweaters since they're an absolute steal at 20-30 usd.

Kind of thankful for this. Will buy a cashmere sweater for my wife from them, that's exactly what she needs.

The cash is thin/low quality relatively because its cheap cashmere, just so you know. Merino is better for cash relative quality wise.

Slow replies cause mobile sorry

And yeah try a small bbocbd

Yeah, I just looked at alternatives and found something way better looking. Btw about Macys - yeah, only if you can find good discount/clearance. I didn't mean full price, that's crazy. I bought RL jeans that fit me nicely for 19.99 AND 20% off. They are 98$ online.

I take my words back, Juliette. I kept reading and I found a couple reviews where Uniqlo's cashmere was rated high. This one was done among cheaper brands and it scored 1st overall:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2238368/Cut-price-cashmere-We-test-Gap-Uniqlo-Mango-Marks--Spencer-Tesco-John-Lewis-La-Redoute-Primark.html

This one had Uniqlo at lowest price point, but it came out decent regardless:

http://moreintelligentlife.com/content/intelligent-life/sceptical-shopper-cashmere

Somehow Pure Collection seemed to be the best bang for the buck, but I couldn't wait for it to be delivered from overseas. I actually received the cashmere turtleneck from Uniqlo today (super fast shipping even after choosing regular option) and it feels really good, way above what I saw at J Crew and Macys

Post some images of what you like. I need some inspiration.

I'm an absolute noob when it comes to fashion, but since you asked I'll just say that I generally hate tucked in shirts, typical business colors for casual wear (like all-blue shirts) and tight pants that are paired with big-ass shoes (looks like crow feet, kind of like uggs) I like relaxed, non-pretentious clothing - but like I said, I'm a noob just asking a question. That picture by zatic is actually not too bad for my taste.

And the one in krndandaman's post was decent.

Oh for its price point its good. But I mean overall, when it comes to cashmere, cheap cashmere is an inferior quality. That's all I meant. Relative to other cashmere things at its price point, I'm sure uniqlo is pretty good. But i'd rather have a good quality cashmere sweater that costs $300 than 10 $30 sweaters that are garbage in comparison. But for a pinch, go for it.

It's just that, for me, I'd recommend merino anyway.

Thanks for that link. I need to try on some of these brands to see how their shirts fit. I know I can get any of them tailored, but if I can get a pretty good fit right off the rack, I'd rather not get them tailored.

Shirts are a pain to fold and they still crumple up. I hang all of them in my wardrobe.

I was asking because even hanging them, the shirts would still "crease"
I do't want to use iron every morning -.-
Some of my shirts though, after iron'ing' them once have been pretty much wrinkle free for a while...

like I said before, it's an easy style to pull off assuming you have half a brain and lurk for a month.

most clothes usually only look good on tall and skinny people.
shorter people can make it work but you need a good understanding of proportion.
and honestly, it's not even that hard.

But the girl on the far right appeals to me. [Side note: TLBot told me some of those images are too large!]

I think I just need more clothes. I know a lot of looks that I'd like to put together, but I don't have the wardrobe to put it together at the moment.

I need a couple more button up shirts, and a couple of pairs of pants. Need to get rid of some of what I have that doesn't fit, as well.
Casual jacket (I think of them as military jackets, but it's not technically called that. Looks like an infantry jacket to me though).
Casual brown shoes
Navy blazer, maybe also a khaki blazer
Updated/better ties, maybe a couple of knit ties also.
I'm never gonna know you now \ But I'm gonna love you anyhow.
