Personal attacks in this thread will draw a temp ban. |

Because the thread is on teamliquid. Thats why they can ban someone in "their own" thread. Like it or not Cruncher is a pro player and its always been tl's policy to punish those who attack pro players on a personal level. If Idra straight up said Cruncher was a waste of life, because of some bad blood and some possible cheating then he deserves the ban. Thats not attacking someone's play thats just straight up attacking a person. TL is what it is. They hold their posters to a higher standard of posting and calling someone a waste of life doesn't contribute to anything, or further discussion of Sc or Sc2. They have done a really good job keeping the forums relatively mature, if you want people making immature personal attacks and claiming that someone doesn't deserve to live due to their behavior in a video game, then go play halo or something. And I'm sure the people in charge of TL are thrilled it has become as big as it is, but I doubt they are gonna change themselves to accommodate a bunch of people coming into their forums and telling them how they should run it, and frankly I'd be extremely disappointed if they did. The mods are doing a fine job and honestly watching this thread just makes me embarrassed to be the giant Idra fan boy that I am. That being said I hate Cruncher, I do think he was stream cheating, and I love the majority of Idra's bm and drama. I don't even have a problem with what he said about Cruncher, but it definitely deserved a ban and if you think its ok to personally attack someone as seriously as Idra did and you are second guessing the mods then you really need to reevaluate the situation and your future on TL. They don't care about the forum ban, they care about the stream feature ban. There are two different things. Maybe I'm missing something but why wouldn't they remove his stream from the featured streams during his ban? Doesn't make sense to me to ban someone from teamliquid but still allow their stream to be advertised and essentially be using teamliquid services. Would make the ban almost useless imo. Even if we wanted to keep Idra's stream on TL we can't, he asked us to remove it when he's banned from TL. We could just do whatever and set it online automatically but we respected his request. would it be possible for you to disclose the reason he requested for his stream not to be displayed on TL during his ban? also can you guys take the IdrA ban discussion to the Automated Ban List X_X I swear, it is like you guys never seen him banned before. You should be thanking the mods that he isn't permed because he says some fucking ridiculous things compared to other users. I'd like that as well, if Idra's okay with it. Is everyone complaining about the ban new? I feel like there's an influx of people complaining, when most of the fanclub didn't even blink during the last 30 day ban.
The reason people give a shit this time (at least me), is because we were having a lot of fun watching his stream. I don't go around looking for IdrA comments, I could care less if he's allowed to post, but I liked watching his stream, and now I can't do that because
a) somebody cheated against him b) he got mad and raged among his supporters c) some child got a hard-on thinking about his own power and banned him.
User was temp banned for this post.

May i didn't use the correct words. I tried to say that "People should try to show respect for others". Saying that someone life is "a waste of life" is really sad. And is more sad when you place it in a gaming enviroment.

So if I start a popular stream, should I have the right to go call people waste of life without repercussion?

edit 2: bring this in the Automated Ban Lish thread. I shouldn't have replied X_X

Wether or not you have a stream, I think you should be allowed to call somebody a waste of life. We're all grown-ups here, we don't have to pretend to be friends in order for this place to function.
EDIT: Even IF you consider "waste of life" to be one of the worst things you can say to a person, the extenuating circumstances surrounding the statement (Cruncher just having cheated and exploited something that IdrA has spent a lot of time hyping up for the fans, and probably was kind of excited to show off) should more than make up for this.

What I don't understand, is why people are mad and blaming the mods for Idra not streaming? If I'm missing something forgive me, but is not that just a really childish response to the temp ban, by punishing his viewers to "get back at" TL?

Calling someone a waste of life is definitely harsh, but it's definitely not out of nowhere. I'm not trying to justify what he said but you can't really expect IdrA to respect him.

i interpret this as a joke or something. I don't know what IdrA thinks, but I think he is just trolling chill and using his rabid fans to do it. not streaming is just to add intensity to the situation. I don't think he is genuinely mad at Chill...maybe disappointed at his ban at most...because:

He was on the stream as a viewer. There are screenshots and jtv admins that back this up.
He countered everything idra did perfectly (it's cruncher). If Teamliquid is against his attitude (this is not a one off thing) why invite him to TSL3 and other tournaments. This is not like a tipping point or anything he's pretty much always been this way. The fact people can cheat in SC2, and there are easy methods like stream looking (among others) and the fact he was blatant about it is pretty BM to me.
I would say in a competitive GM environment, even Stream sniping and queuing to play against him is exploiting idra providing a stream to the fans, Keeping your account logged on to his stream while playing isn't cheating?

I don't go around looking for IdrA comments, I could care less if he's allowed to post, but I liked watching his stream, and now I can't do that because a) somebody cheated against him b) he got mad and raged among his supporters c) some child got a hard-on thinking about his own power and banned him. Actually: a) is complete speculation b) yes, accurate c) inaccurate. im a grown-ass man!
So it would have been better to hype some crazy match-up and Bm him in your own special way. Then have a big laugh about him, with your buddies in this public forum. Then use this forum to get your message out? Combat ex and You. I guess not the same thing then.

Besides his stream being linked to TL's homepage, what about the ban is preventing him from streaming and informing his viewer base with twitter/facebook/jtv? Probably won't get as many viewers, but still will probably be worth it. Nothing is physically preventing him from streaming. He can still advertise via Twitter/FB. The stream will still appear on TL, but it won't be featured. Right, it doesn't prevent him from streaming, but it prevents him from getting his normal amount of vast viewers. (well, commentating "normal" amount of vast viewers)

IdrA is not allowed to call someone a name for stream sniping/cheating? I thought this forum was all about E-sports, not the drama involved with it. I really expected cruncher to get warned or removed from the featured streaming for being so immature. Of course a lot of people don't like IdrA not gg'ing, but can't people see stream sniping/cheating is a lot worse and bad for E-sports?
I'm really dissapointed in this forum. dude, there is no proof he cheated at all. none whatsoever. so not only is accusing him of cheating when there is no proof of it whatsoever very wrong, but calling him a waste of life is against the rules as well. also he's someone that should be setting an example here, AND he has a history of bad posting and warnings/bans. HOW IS THIS DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND? Maybe there's no "proof" but it seems pretty obvious, especially since we know he waited for IdrA to search to begin his own search. The odds that he DID cheat are pretty high. I know how it is though: You simply can not ban a cheater without having proof of them cheating. Everybody else needs to understand this as well so we can move along... What do you think? *edit* Not trying to argue. That simply would not be smart. =/

From my list of Starcraft 2 goals: #3 Have Idra witness my play and give some sort of pseudo praise. If Idra were to describe my play as "well, I wouldn't say he sucks" that would be more than enough to keep me from becoming a stripper. Ahahah, this made me laugh! =P

There are two different things. Exactly. If he could still have his stream up on the featured list, this wouldn't be as big of a problem as it is for many people. *after reading more* Apparently, it is not being featured when he is banned due to IdrA's own request. Still, it's upsetting.

BUT, that doesn't allow IdrA or anyone to insult other people. Manner up. That's not at all what this is about... This is because Cruncher "allegedly" stream cheated against IdrA, which is pretty much identical to playing with map hacks.
Anyway, all that stuff being posted... I would really love to see some more commentary from IdrA. It's great that he points out a lot of mistakes his opponents does, but I would love to see him explain how he reacts to certain information and scouting information he obtains.

:/ Man, Hot_Bid gave the thread a second chance and reopened it, and now it's heading in the same direction that got Kennigit to close it.
