What's the percentage of "entrenched" voters in the US? By that, I mean what percentage would vote Democrat or Republican regardless of who was actually running for their respective party?

Traditionally, about 1/3 of the electorate will vote the party line of either party.

I love how some people on the right-wing will just shit all over someone who has served and sacrificed for their country if their political views don't jive with theirs. Seriously, who are you referring to? Because Tammy Duckworth is the only military woman I remember speaking tonight, and she has never claimed sexual harassment towards herself, ever. Rather than give out baseless and nameless insults, try illuminating us with your brilliant insight.

You are correct however that since the concept of insurance is tied to risk in a sane business model, it doesn't make much sense to force the companies to act as a discount service of taking money from young healthy people to pay for known regular costs such as Sandra Fluke's contraceptives. This is pretty much why every other industrialized nation has some form of universal health care. It's just really hard to run health insurance as a business, because the incentives *not* to cover someone are too strong. And yes, life insurance companies really do prefer to insure customers that are likely to live for an extremely long time, paying into it longer than someone who croaks at 45.

As far as I know, under Obama our military budget is still pretty much as large as the rest of the world put together. You *really* think he's able to reduce everything to the point of being unable to project military power abroad?

Wow, that seems on the extreme end of things. Of course, I'm not sure what the numbers are in Canada...could be very similar.

That and a few thousand pages of tax code and mostly terrible and unnecessary regulations. Democrats have all but literally said they won't allow out of state health insurance policies because then young people will buy cheaper policies that met their needs instead of paying for a lot of stuff they don't need and thereby putting enough money into the system.

MOOOOOMMMMMM THE IRONY IT HURTS I CAN'T TAKE IT ANY LONGER MY SIDES OOOO OWWWW Are you sure on that last part? Last I heard they still had the address verification disabled like they did 4 years ago so anywhere from any country could give as much money as they wanted . Hillary's campaign got busted from a few people making false max contributions through multiple people but the no check credit card system bypassed it.
