The execution of that blog could have been soooo much better. As it was it just came across as sophomoric.

That argument might have a lot more validity if the guy hasn't been going off on self-righteous, narcissistic indignation on literally anything that offends his ego in the slightest ways for years.

This, this, this. TB is such an easy target for troll'ish behavior because he always goes into "tough guy" mode on the internet lol. I remember one time he was talking about punching some guy in the face if he ever met him at a live event.
The blog could have been so much more, but overall I still got a laugh out of it mostly because I knew how poorly TB would react to it when he found it. I wasn't disappointed.

Or it's just one of multiple ways to react, maybe this is just his internet persona because actually speaking with your native emotional state on the internet can be a terrible experience unless you are in a circle jerk community that just happens to agree with you.

I find pretty unhilarious that you cannot post hilarious "battle reports" anymore. Celebrities are high up so that they don't meddle with kids, and they let kids have fun, unless they are TB. That was funny battle report, stupid but funny, akin to things like Chill vs CombatEx things that SC2 scene does not have almost at all (which makes it kinda boring).

lol way to stereotype and detract from your anecdotal evidence. I'm fairly sure there are TL mods and admins who are law school graduates. Neither of us know TB and it's just an internet persona, people can completely 180 their attitudes if the situation suits them. I'm not defending self-righteous indignation, just saying you shouldn't ever judge a person by how they post on the internet, let alone pretend you understand their psyche.

Yeah, same. Knew reading it what response it would incite. Kinda sad really but like any guilty pleasure hey?

It's pretty sad yeah. I mean what is the harm in this one? Sure it was daft, but did it harm TB in ANY way?
Oh well.

At the time of creating the BR I didn't plan to directly offend TB. I did everything in a light-hearted manner. I just assumed that if TB saw it he would think that the jokes were jocular.

I think 85% of all Totalbiscuits posts are either part of an argument or him being overly defensive. It's a shame really that someone with such a big fan base and obvious passion for gaming/ esports can't be a little less of an 'angry man' at times and take things as more of a joke. Doesn't need to be so defensive ALL the time, not everything is character assassination or w/e.
No matter who you are and what sort of fame you find, putting yourself in that situation means you open yourself up for the good, the bad and the ugly... It just happens. Getting angry about it so much aint good.
Your post was amusing to me anyway and I don't think it was that much of a bad joke/ troll... Certainly not in the 'bad' or 'ugly' to me, but then I wasn't the 'butt' of the joke.
Don't take it personally IMO!

Yeah it was definitely poorly executed. But hey, it was my first BR. I've already gotten a few suggestions on how I can improve my future ones should I decide to make some more.

Because when you put as much effort into growing gaming and esports as he does, you'd very much rather not get shat on by entitled StarCraft 2 fanbois who are new and don't know anything about gaming or esports history.

Because EVERYTHING on the internet is about shitting on someone right?
Nobody ever does things as a joke?
To quote someone in the thread, TB's reactions to trolls/jokers/random people could just put people off him. Certainly does put me off.
When I saw OP, I was like But when I saw TB's response, I was like
Whereas if he'd just posted something like 'lol, you got me' and moved on, the thread wouldn't have descended into people arguing about if its was right/ wrong, trolling or not and life would have moved on. TB might have gained a few more fans and we could all have enjoyed a funny BR thread.
But oh no. Don't go posting your funny BR's, you are clearly just shitting on someone........... (Sarcasm btw, a lot of people fail to detect it).

Because 1. He clearly isn't good enough of a writer to get it across to people that he was only joking and 2. there's already a long history of elitist kiddies (which is ironic, because kiddies should never EVER have the right to be elitist about anything) who do nothing but spout "lol tb is bad at sc2 he should leave this community". Do you seriously not see how there is precedent of fools running their mouths in his case, and also in other cases (djWHEAT, JP etc)?
If you're bad at making jokes, don't blame people for not laughing.
