I was waiting for something to happen in this series other than that Serenity arc. At least something happens in this episode. We got the yuri of Jenny x Lynn and we may actually see some actual pirating. Jenny and Lynn gave you not one but two chances to see them kiss. Jenny's escape from those henchmen was funny, a gun under her dress. I guess everybody seems to be cool with a bunch of newbie school girl pirates taking on entire company with a ton of ships with weapons.

DN and CG are a couple of my favorites. I haven't watched FMA Brotherhood though it has really high ratings, because I felt it might only be rated high because many who liked the manga watched the anime and voted highly and/or people who watched the original FMA came over and gave biased votes, etc. But if you love both DN and CG and you love FMA B too, then I guess it's time for me to check it out :D (Well I saw the first episode but it wasn't that spectacular). Oh god I hope rewrite gets animated soon. A key (jun maeda) work that has fantasy/action and stuff? Having known kanon, air, and clannad, I sorta expected all of jun maeda's harems to be in mostly realistic settings xD. Anyways if Kyo Ani animates rewrite (better not be another company like Jun did with angel beats lol), I hope it's really good. It'll have the awesome romance/drama/comedy stuff as clannad but also be appealing to a wider audience cus of its fantasy/action themes :D. + Show Spoiler + This music video is so awesome. The song is epic. I'm glad the art in this is much better than in the game. The characters all look messed up in the game xD. Can't wait for Hyouka episode 2 tomorrow. I hope it doesn't disappoint. (Expecting either it to become really good, like high/top tier anime, or just stay entertaining, but nothing more, as it is in episode 1)

Besides, KyoAni has basically given Key the finger and would much rather crank out endless streams of content-less moeblob until the end of time because frankly, if people are snapping it up, why not. It sells better, apparently, and they're kind of Kadokawa's bitch and honestly I think they prefer it that way. Not that I would care either way. Anyhow, all evidence suggests that the thing between Key and KyoAni is over, dead, and done with, if Little Busters is any indication. I honestly don't get why JC Staff gets all the hate for that (or why KyoAni gets all the love). It's not like KyoAni hasn't put out its own share of utter shit adaptation (hello endless 8). You bring up Angel Beats but I'm not convinced at all that had KyoAni done that they would have done a better job, with the single cour, it was pretty much doomed to having horrendous pacing. Visuals-wise it did fine, and if anything it being terrible had everything to do with "here you get 24+ episodes, write a nice long script LOLJK FINISH IT IN 12 KTHXBAI". If anything, I see this all as a good thing, as this might mean we'll actually get Rewrite as an anime in a timely fashion since Key has decided that KyoAni is a lost cause, and thus give it to White Fox, who did the OP, and is fairly respectable anyway. eh...whatever.

Sure, there were some dumb things that happened in R2 that really didn't make sense ( hey we can't think of a way to get from point A to point B so we're going to make a new letter called 7 ). But the ending, music, story and everything was awesome. I know some people really care about all things making sense, but I watch to be entertained. If something doesn't make sense, I ignore it or think of something else in my head and just carry on through the show. Maybe I'm in the minority being able to ignore plot holes and such without being too bothered. But I would say you are way too critical or biased or hating or, i would hope, exaggerating, if you say CG and DN are a combination of bad and disappointing. Surely there were good parts that you must have liked. Though DN definitely had its low parts, and people who watched it probably know what I mean, but I'm talking more about CG here. And I can understand people disliking R2 for those plotholes and "retardedness" but also the first season? What was wrong with the first season that made it so bad? And if a show really was that bad, why would someone keep watching -.-; On April 29 2012 14:39 hayata2.0 wrote: That video is not even by KyoAni. It's by like...White Fox. I know that, I did not mean to imply that anywhere in my post. Unless you are simply saying that if it were done by KyoAni, it could be animated even better? Anyways, is there any other evidence for key and kyo-ani's break up aside from not animating any more key works past clannad? That's a real shame ![]() I'm hoping it's just that they feel there's no rush to get Key works done or something? For example they animated air then kanon even though kanon actually came out first as a VN. Can you clarify what you mean by JC staff gets all the hate for that (what do you mean by that, having moe anime?). Well what I was thinking is that if it was animated by a larger/bigger/richer company like KyoAni (unless if I'm wrong about the richer part?) then it would be much safer for KyoAni to allow Jun to make a 24-26 episode series instead of 12. There were a lot of good ideas in Angel Beats but just executed badly and the pace was messed up and stuff, though it still had its moments. Seeing what Kyo Ani did with clannad, i think it would have been definitely better just by being better paced. Omg I just searched up White Fox and they did Steins;gate! Which was awesome. So at this point if it was announced they were doing Rewrite I wouldn't be disappointed :D

If you are simply talking about season 1, then yeah it was solid, although the cliffhanger end combined with R2 is a huge disappointment. On another note, earlier this week one of my friends linked me to a screenshot of VN that recently got translated, Hoshizora no Memoria. Screenshot included two girls whose design I really liked, so I downloaded it and started reading... Thoughts so far summed up in a picture: ![]() Has anyone read this yet? How long must I suffer through this fucking imouto till the other girls show up!???

a lot of R2's plot was directly copied from season 1, the parts that weren't copied weren't thought through, and it didn't get better until the very end - so why was there a need for a season 2 in the first place? none, except to introduce some more characters they can market collectibles off of speaking of fanservice... what does everyone think of nyaruko-chan :3

They're expanding 8 episodes per volume, which is huge compare to other LN series (3 per volume for index, 2 for nyaruko, etc). but this has its own charm too. This is directed and paced similarly to old classic anime like LOTG where most of the time nothing happens, but it can express events more clearly and pertains a tranquil feeling to the episodes

Could you list some? Actually all of the criticism for code geass/R2 I have seen has been about R2 being too fast or not explaining things such as all the plot holes, as well as the even higher level of fanservice and the mecha battles focusing just on explosions and cool new shiny weapons instead of how the battles were in the first season. So this is a new thing to me. Again, I watch to be entertained, so I guess I was able to get past the bad parts and just concentrated on the good parts which I loved, like their stylistic characters/animation and mechas (even if the battles become just big explosions) and everyone epically using their geasses. Also, I loved the ending of R2 because, even if the rest of R2 wasn't as good as R1, it at least ended well, and the ending could be interpreted in different ways. Also, I'm sure I'm not the minority here thinking Code Geass is a top tier anime cus if you check its ratings on sites like ANN, it is rated very high. Same with a lot of reviews. Though again, I'm just talking about how good the show is in terms of how much I liked it, not what score I feel the show "deserves". On April 29 2012 14:51 Sentenal wrote: If you group Code Geass (as in, both seasons) together as one work, then it averages out to be bad. I mean, normally you would group season 1 and season 2 together, even if there is a timeskip, right? Sunrise was just being cute splitting it in half. Split seasons, to me at least, imply that its meant to be judged as one whole (as in, they are seasons of the same show, just split airing time), rather than being a stand-alone show with a sequel. For example, take Horizon or Fate/Zero. Both of them are getting split seasons, but I think its perfectly acceptable to judge them together as one work. If you are simply talking about season 1, then yeah it was solid, although the cliffhanger end combined with R2 is a huge disappointment.
