I agree with this, he's a pretty helpful poster in strategy discussions I've seen, IIRC, but once he goes into an LR he turns into something worse. TBH, with no history whatsoever he might not have even gotten warned, considering he's not some guy with 22 posts (this is assuming he has zero mod actions).

I think it wasn't just that post. If you look at his posts throughout that day there were a few questionable ones, some clearly deserving at least a warning. Of course in order to ban the mods need to pick one post in particular. It was really a sum of his work yesterday and not just that post. The post was just the one flagged as the banned one.
