Stephano wasn't far from winning the games against Polt. He had difficult maps and was under constant upfront pressure. He deals with drops better than positional attacks. And while we can continue to laugh at nay-sayers who pretend that korean terrans figured Stephano's style completely (If they did, it also means he is the most studied foreigner in the GSL), it is certain that he could use a bit of upgrade in his ZvT. Considering his regularity in training and the way he can focus I'd say that will be his plan. We can wish him the best and hope he shows us the best games he can against Code S and Code A koreans.

Millenium Released an interview of stephano about his assembly run, his future tournaments and his future in starcraft :

[M] Ivaldir : Salut Stephano.

I'm going to attempt a translation, there is quite a few interesting thing.

Thanks a lot FaRess. I'm interested to hear Stephano's thoughts. The stage interview after the games was pretty bad.

Ho, so he will not participate in the next MLG.
And so he would like to participate in GSL if it's ok with his schedule but he doesn't want to spend more than 2 weeks in korea, seems weird, anyway, good news.

[M] Ivaldir : Hi Stephano, you just came back from assembly winter.Congratulation on your run there. Even if you lost in the finals, it's a very good result. How do you feel about it ?

[M] Stephano: Hi, I'm happy to be in the top 3,I had an easy bracket in the start, but I knew I would have to face Polt eventually, and I expected the outcome so no regrets !

True, you are very comfortable in the ZvP match up this days. When you lost your first game against elfi, you had a 30 win streak against protoss in official tournaments, how did you feel when you lost that game ?

It wasn't a big deal,I think I did the right thing, unlike him who went for a blind hard counter of my build without even scouting. That kind of build can't work more than once. I was very confident about winning the next 2 maps.

Next was the semi final against Puma. Everyone predicted some close games. But it was the opposite you won with a lot of ease even if the first 15 minutes on cloud kingdom were undeceive. You even allowed yourself to build 2 manner hatches. Did you expect to win that easily ?

I've met Puma multiple times during my stay in Korea on the ladder, and his playstyle don't really impress me. But I wasn't expecting to win that easily, my ZvT training is almost non existent since 2 months.

Let's talk about the finals, what were the main mistakes you did in your opinion ?

I'm globally satisfied by my play during the finals, if I had to pin point a mistake I would say the lack of information about his army movement. I maybe should have used burrowed infestors more to get information about the position of his tanks.

You will be able to avenge yourself Wednesday night in the semi final of the MSI Pro Cup February. What will you do to ensure your victory ?

Once again, I'm really not confident about beating him, we can call Polt my bête noire (sorry don't remember how to translate that). I'm not really going to change my playstyle, I will just try to have a better map control and take better fights.

You said, during assembly, that the support of your fans makes you want to continue your professional gaming carrier ? Where do you stand right now ?

I'm still thinking about it,5 months ago there was no way I was going to keep playing, but now that idea doesn't sound as ridiculous as before, but I don't want to create false hopes,I will let my fans know as soon as I know : )

And Korea ???(YES PLEASE KOREA), Do you still think about it ? Imagine you get a Code S seed!

Staying there for a long time, it's no for sure, but to go there for 10 days to get better, why not. Concerning GSL it's mainly a schedule issue, If I can stay in korea without missing big NA/EU tournaments, I will do it.

What's your plans for the next 2 months ?

A trip to the USA (USA USA!!!) for the IPL showmatch and the Lone Star Clash and another trip for IPL 4.

At last, your plans concerning the Millenium House ?

I left the house for my trip to the Assembly Lan, I'm not going back there for a few months for the lack of time and I miss my home, it's been almost three months that I didn't see Toulouse.

Do you have anything to add ?

I would like to thank my family for their support, my fans that means to me much more than it looks like (if I change my mind for next year, it's partly because of the support emails I received), my 2 "acolytes" (Kyrria et Nokhs) ,they do a big work and help me a lot with the stream, my facebook page, and my twitter and my team Millenium for their support and our sponsors : Cdiscount, MSI, Winamax, GEIL, Thortech et EpicGear.

Stephano considering attending GSL and playing another year, that is some great news!!
About MLG, the thing is he doesn't like the system where some players have to do 10 more bo3 than the others, it's not very fair... Anyways, MLG with their 20$ paywall for special events lost a lot of my respect...

I am hoping that Stephano can beat Polt this week in MSI. Obviously I would hope for that anyway, being a Stephano fan, but I think it could be important for Stephano's mental state for him to get another win over Polt. I think that Grubby and Mana and Bling cannot really beat Stephano these days partly because of their numerous past losses to him getting in their heads. I don't want Stephano getting into a similar situation with Polt, especially as Polt plays in a lot of European tournaments.

Anyway, Stephano acknowledges that he has not worked on his anti-Terran game recently. Hopefully he can get to work on that and improve this aspect of his play, which is probably his biggest weakness. It is relative though, as he can still beat Thorzain regularly and crushed Puma. As mentioned upthread, Stephano could do with another Terran practice partner. Maybe Alive or MKP or even Polt?

Sign me up amasing Zerg.

I have just analysed and watched his replay from assemply and then compared them to lucky´s replay. if you look close and in dept you can really see a huge difference I didnt even knew Stephano had so much apm its quit insane.

Also the trick he does with the infestor eggs to locate tank fire is brilliant never seen any other zerg do that
