Hi everyone, my name is Nick De Cesare and my ID is ls. I'm 18yrs old and a Zerg/Terran player from the USA. I was formerly known as ajtls. I currently live with my Korean friend on my own, in South Korea. Formerly I lived at the GOMHouse Prior to this I lived at the ProS house (formerly MVPB) from August until October.
I understand a lot of people are uneasy with me because of my past and I won't hold it against anyone who wants to speak out about it. It's just a huge privilege to be allowed back into this community, and I thank TeamLiquid so much for giving me this chance. Also, I'm working on my manner, and understand I can get hotheaded sometimes during games, but I mean none of it personally as I'm truthfully just angry at myself. However, I'm slowly but surely working on biting my tongue.

My computer has been having really weird problems lately, and no one can figure out what. Sometimes the FPS is normal at 200, othertimes it drops to as low as 30. And it's not an overheating issue or anything, tried so many different things .

That is correct, however for streaming you don't want your source FPS 3x higher than your capture FPS. If you put them closer together you will get a noticeable performance boosts or be able to stream at higher quality.
Wait a minute, I remember you. I met you at one of culture crew gaming's tournaments a long while back in Maine, the name ajtls always stuck with me. But I never thought lastshadow was the same person as ajtls ^^.

You can always add him to your favorites until he is featured to avoid looking through the big list.
I used to have a bad opinion of ls and give this guy shit because of his past, but after watching him for a bit, he's obviously learned from his past mistakes and is a sick good player now and better person. This stream is amazing. gogo lastshadow!!

I have a question about your MULEing, and maybe you addressed this in a vlog already (sorry if I missed it) but I noticed that you're putting all of your MULEs on the closest mineral patches. The last trip for the MULE, after it grabs the minerals will not make it to the command center and you will lose the 27 minerals completely. If you put a MULE on the farthest/middle length mineral patches (away from your cc) it will go perfectly so that you won't lose those 27 minerals.
Am I missing something? Last time I checked this was the case. Plus when you put mules on the farthest mineral patches that means more mining later on for your scv's to be on closer mineral patches.

Wow just after watching your first game, while not that great still, I'm instantly hooked. I don't know if there's any other NA Terran player as fast as you. Its so hard to tell how good you really are because you havent been to a recent MLG. Better than qxc? illusion? possible.

Even in the games you don't win I'm just learning insane shit from your unit control. Its amazing watching the way you expand your bases/army through the map.
So how is this guy still not featured when he provides replay packs, information packed vlogs, participates in many playhems, and streams regularly for hours a day?
It's just kind of strange how some other people can get featured so easily with little criteria. Feels like a poor system to me.

I'm with you. It might have something to do with his poor history at TL, being temp banned for cheating in BW, etc.
I don't know who he is but I tuned in for the first time and I can hardly hear anything he says. The volume is too low + he talks too softly. There's lots of background noise from other people talking more loudly than him too.
Still streaming, right now hanbin(former zenex team player) is on and swapping off with me every so often. lol come watch ~ will be streaming all night until ladder reset.

Learned so much from you. Watching you play is inspiring. I really don't understand how come more people are not aware of you. The amount of knowledge you give away for free on your stream is beyond what most so called coaches would charge for.

Last Shadow is Gosu~~ He definitely deserves to be featured on TL in my opinion; he his a very good player, and his high APM style of play makes him fun to watch--more importantly he is a very knowledgeable player that does in-depth commentary, which is what I believe to be the most valuable type of commentary. This is why I believe he deserves the feature.

After lurking for quite a while, I finally made an account just to say how much I enjoyed Lastshadow's stream tonight. The commentary was great, as a platinum level player I learned a lot. Hope to see more of your stream in the future!
I know I'm not part of the TL community, but I sure do watch ALOT of streams and tournaments. This guy deserves to be recognised for the information and discussions he is willing to share as he streams. He explains builds as he executes them and actually explains his positioning and thought process incredibly well considering he is playing at the same time.
There needs to be more recognition given to the lesser known streamers on TL in my opinion, and this guy deserves a spot on that featured list. It shouldn't be about viewer numbers, it should be about the quality of the stream. And this is the highest quality stream I have seen. If only it didnt't take Day[9] to tell me about the stream I would have been watching it all along.

Only thing that matters to who? When you're watching a player stream you're not watching them play "turnaments", you're watching them practice, so I'd say practice skill matters quite a bit. Anyone with a brain can see that LS's mechanics are way beyond the majority of featured foreigner pros, why should someone like TT1 or Axslav be featured based on bs meaningless foreigner tournament results and LS not be featured?
Feature him plz. He deserves it if he's going to keep up the kinda stream we all saw last night.
btw AluXez, he isn't going to "turnaments" because he doesn't care about them. he wants to be the best, so hes practicing his ass off to reach that. Having a solid stream has nothing to do with results in foreign tournaments. Stop your hating.

I hope you guys know that TL has a clear feature policy. part of it is that if you consistently get like 300plus viewers your chance of getting featured rises. so it's good if you keep posting here but more importantly watch the stream regularly.

Those people most likely have had good showings in tournaments. TL's policy for featured streamers is based on popularity or tournament success.
Well, there are some people like Pomi and Hui who are not featured even tho they have 1k viewers. I guess thats maybe because most of their viewers are from Russia/Taiwan tho?

he's going to be GM on the KR ladder this season, so he's auto twice as good as destiny, so nice try. people who hate on apm-spam most likely are verrry low level as it's never a bad thing.

Stop bringing up stupid shit, major/desrow stopped posting because I posted the truth against their fabrications and GOM was on the verge of getting involved. Juan didn't follow through with his end of the deal (something skype logs/he could confirm) he played barely any games, didn't get me GM, as if it's even relevant, I've shown I can more than enough go toe to toe with korean gm's consistently (and on stream ive done so) thanks for your concern though.

Just tuned in a couple days ago due to the Day9 plug, and have been blown away by both your gameplay and the way you think about the game. Massive amounts of kudos for maintaining that level in Korea. Your 6-rax TvP and CC-first marauder/hellion timing in TvZ are so much fun to watch.

Been super impressed with the commentry as well as the play. The commentry is amazingly helpful when trying to look at the game in a more advanced or different way.
Your stream is awesome, I hope you can stream your games as much as possible. You explain things which no other foreigner explains, I really like in-depth analysis and maths. Also, I'm blown away by your use of hotkeys and screen keys. I started doing it myself and my APM went up a lot in like 2 days

This stream seriously deserves to be featured. The synchronization of high level analysis, keyboard hulk smash sounds, and honbin "THANK youuu~" is simply too fantastic to be denied.

A lot of ppl say Kas is the best foreign terran but, but i think ThorZain and LastShadow are a way better ...I hope gets featured and we see great things from him in the future !

This guy should definitely get featured. He consistently gets over 200 viewers when he streams and he is arguably one of the best foreign terrans at the moment.

He doesn't BM or rage quit. Just because he doesn't type 'gg' before surrendering doesn't mean it's a bad thing.
Gogo LastShadow! I'd say that this stream is the most educationally efficient stream out there, you can stop by for 15 minutes and you'll learn something useful, or you can stay for hours and learn a ton.

I also like watching him quite often and I also think he should at least give a gg and not just leave. Just because someone else does it does not mean you should. Beyond that, I enjoy the stream.

I don't know if he's trolling, because I have observed the same thing in lastshadow's play. A decent amount of sloppy mistakes because he is too busy spamming as fast as he possibly can.

I'm in agreement with this. I don't think there's anyone promoting it, in the truest sense of the word, but I would argue that the original post would look better if it didn't instill a degree of uncertainty about LS due to it's vagueness.

I've been watching ls a bit, and knowing what ls was like in the past (ie like 8 months ago: "DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?" rofl hhahhah, and then his behavior when he did that 24h stream or whatever) I don't actually like him since I think his current attitude is fake. Wasnt trolling! On the other hand I really enjoy when hes talking about the games...he really provides really good knowlege of the game, but hes is too hung up in the spamming part of the game, or as he calls it, having mechanics. If i was a terranplayer i would really watch when he talks about the games, but watching him play 8 hours a day? Not so much

Please Feature LS TL - He has amazing stream quality and really cares about his fans too. Not to mention he usually has more viewers then half the featured streams just from his followers!

Everyone seems to have forgiven Naniwa for throwing his game against NesTea since his recent performance in the GSL.

I don't recall saying TL was wrong, Last Shadow should be featured, or that Naniwa and Stephano don't post good results. You essentially repeated everything I said, and tried to use it as an argument against me. LastShadow only needs to improve his play. He doesn't need to fix his image, because SC2 history has shown us that it doesn't matter what you do, as long as you post a good result sometime in the future. I don't understand how your response supports or denies that point.

lastshadow should not even have his stream listed in non-featured, he had no respect for the GGnet community wen he was apart of that ttam, he would only post replays of him beating good players with cheese, and if sum1 disputed his skill he rambled and cried about it. he has no respect for any1 and thinks he is sum all mighty sc2 player.
I'm really against him being featured. His behavior is childish and disgusting when he plays on NA server and loses to those he flames after/while playing.

In Korea I hear you can buy it just by asking for the "starcraft Keyboard". From what I understand at one point it was used by almost every pro-gamer in Korea. Just a rubber dome, but it has really good action and excellent key-size. IMO mechanicals are a little too small. I prefered the size of my Dell Quietkey before this one.
Also there are a lot of options for mechanicals that are not "clicky" if you look into MX Browns, Blacks and Reds.

The 1500 dollar donation never fully went through and stuff happened (this snowballed into me stopping sc2) a lot of stuff happened with it and then other stuff occurred. I stopped SC2 for reasons which would take paragraphs to type. Ultimately I had/have offers in place for other stuff and I had to priotize them as no one has any idea what my situation is like in Korea, so they should cease to comment on it.
Me playing LoL is something I chose to do when stuff arose that presented the possibility, I'm not doing it for "fun". I'm on the first wave of HoTS beta-invites and I'll be playing/streaming that.

Uh no, the coaching thing is not bullshit. I paid for them personally and he makes it impossible to schedule the lesson on purpose or just avoids you completely. And if you say fine if you don't have time then give me my money back, he refuses refunds and calls you names as a result. This video is terrible beyond words, considering his still vague response to he took donations but only a percent blah blah blah. In regards to the coaching, he is flat out lying in my situation, and making it sound like he was some reasonable saint and someone else was just being outrageous. I will clarify for everyone what happened between Nick and I and fill the gaps he leaves out. First of all, if you message him he might not respond for weeks if he even does respond. And then if you say when can you coach, he either wont answer that question, or give a vague time, like "early Sunday morning". Clearly you need to set a firm time, and you can message him for 3 days straight and he wont confirm a time, and this cycle repeats itself with him over and over and over. I mean I must have messaged 10 times to just set a day, and then you message him 20 times to set a time on one of those days and he purposefully avoids you.
Now this is where the video gets funny, he says, I tried to not be a dick and tell him there are no refunds.......However this is how he actually said it word for word on skype " [8/26/2012 7:40:17 AM] IM LS---Nick: i dont recall anywhere saying there is refunds, lol, i dont recall being apart of a sign organization or anything that gives refunds to hormonal 10 year olds that act like a fcking child". Now all of you can decide, should he be allowed to advertise his coaching on TL if he refuses refunds in the manner I demonstrated above, with his name calling, and saying he will give me the worst lessons in the world? The guy is a liar and a thief, clearly it wasn't just my money he took. Don't believe a word he says.

It's my mistake to not specify a time Sunday morning in this latest chat log, yes, but again, as the person trying to obtain the service he doesn't message me the day before to confirm (in a 2day time period) or make any efforts just like in the past, when I've made it publically known that in Korea, I'm not always around/etc, and this can be seen in the earlier chat-logs.
Hope people read this in full, we then go on to get pretty aggressive in chat, I drag him into a call with my manager where he insults me IRL/etc and thus I respond accordingly. A person acting like this, lying like this, and ultimately just acting like a child etc I outright didn't want to even continue to give the lessons to (this was the "4th" case in the video). After hourly debate with my manager (who again handles most of my online calendar-esque stuff and as of late some coaching stuff/website stuff), I told the guy to wait until I return to SC2 (HOTS-beta) and that I would give him the last lessons in a few weeks (9-17~9.20 range) as that would allow me to refamiliarize myself with the meta/current builds/etc, and also for us both to "calm down" in a sense since we clearly we not getting along at this point.

EDIT - Split up the dates rather than one long chat-log from skype so it's easier to see the disappearances/easier to read.
The problem with the sound with your video recording of the coaching session is that xsplit uses the SPEEC audio codec which most players (including vlc) can't playback. If anyone has that problem use "M player".
I think you're doing well commentating and explaining with your progamer mindset and knowledge. However, you could try to vary your language a bit, noticed you used the word "superior" repeatedly. It's just boring to listen to it.

4/21/2012 - initial purchase of coaching, first 2 lessons out of 6 were given during this time too apparently. 4/24/2012 - the guy creates Paypal dispute since lastshadow doesn't send promised coaching material, cancels dispute after lastshadow types it out on Skype.
5-8/x/2012 - After that, he tries multiple times to set up coaching sessions with lastshadow, and in the timeframe of contacting him like 5+ times over many months, lastshadow is unable to set up a single coaching time. Until finally lastshadow says he's available sunday morning:

Clearly lastshadow is in the fault: - Constant very late replies to any question (completely inexcusable) - Inability to let the purchaser know when he's available to do coaching - If you're unable to do coaching, a refund should be given
