Portugal played really well, special note for Pepe in the defense, A true giant, Nani in the the transitions, and today C.Ronaldo was almost a Striker... beautiful game by Portugal | ||

Ronaldo scored over 50 goals this season for his club, I would not call that overrated. And yes Willems is not good enough yet, but he is only 18 so there is time to improve. | ||

Walcott sure can sprint with a ball - but without I've no idea if Ronaldo can outrun him. And even if Walcott was still faster. Ronaldo is still in the very top of how fast players can run | ||

 That was a big morale booster. Relative international unknowns like Custódio, João Pereira, Miguel Veloso and Moutinho played superbly. I used to really dislike João Pereira in the beginning of his career but he has really matured. Great too that Ronaldo is back to his usual self. Looking forward to the next game. (Fun fact: Last 9 matches between Netherlands and Portugal: 3 ties, 6 wins for Portugal.) | ||

But if people read my older posts then this was expected months ago. People outside Holland might be surprised but most people that follow Dutch football expected this for quite a while. Almost the entire team is not in shape / injured almost an entire season and they were boasting that they would be a big favorite for the title. I laughed hard and today people are surprised that they are out. I'm a big fan of Holland and I'm very passionate about our team normally and have had great expectations past 14 years but this time I was expecting Holland to disappoint greatly and they've proven me right and now I'm not really sad like I normally am when Holland gets kicked out of the tournament. | ||
