Worst performance since 1984, where we didn't qualify. Worst performance ever when we did qualify. Yep, I guess it is and what I meant is worst performance in the main EURO tourney. With such good players, this result is very very dissapointing.
Players and the coach all need to do some serious thinking here. Holland plays with too many "lazy" players with low work rate really hurt them. Someone like Kuyt would have been much better than Affelay(who played like 120 mins the whole season at Barcelona).

Imo the problem is that people like Kuyt, Van Bommel and Boulahrouz (to name a few) shouldn't have even been taken to this tournament. Kuyt was too old for the WC 2 years ago, let alone this tournament. Half our bench is filled with dinosaurs who add absolutely nothing.

Hmm you do have to accept that Holland is one of the slowest good teams out there, and they do not match up well against a ridiculously pacey team like portugal. Portugal's defenders were faster than Holland's attackers. Great skilled players though, unfortunate.
Regardless, it is a disgrace and a tragedy that the complete pile of crap that is group A was able to exist, whilst 3 amazing teams were all thrown together into group B. How could that ever happen o.O...

After this match, I don't think you can blame it on the coach any more. He fielded the exact team that Netherlands wanted him to field, against the weakest defense in the group, and they still got nothing done. Even more, they looked even more shaky defensively than during their other games.

He played amazing tonight. If Portugal had their scoring boots on they would have massacred us.

I was saying shortly before euro starts, that holland doesn't have a key player, a high profile player that can take games on his own, you guys were saying otherwise. Well, what do you think now.

But seeing how Holland played these games they wouldn't have fared much better in the other groups.

The overall result is terrible and he won't be coach much longer. That doesn't chance the fact that everyone played like crap. There's only so much polishing you can do on a turd.

Sneijder is usually that player, but he's been injured and in poor form for the majority of the season.

I think the problem is that they have too many of those players that have a huge ego and want to be the star/key player. What Holland lacks is a team or at least players that try to play as a team.
