I don't think i've seen any other team simply give the ball away that often... Well deserved win for Portugal, the Dutch just didnt deserve a win here. Shitty defence and 2 goals in 3 matches with a star-studded offence. Bleh.
I'm a man of my word, and that word is "unreliable".

RvP worst player at Euro.

Nah, no one can play alone without support even if you are Messi/Ronaldo. Holland is like 11 individual not a team -_- and with a bad coach.

After this match, I don't think you can blame it on the coach any more. He fielded the exact team that Netherlands wanted him to field, against the weakest defense in the group, and they still got nothing done. Even more, they looked even more shaky defensively than during their other games.

Well, when you put your team at such situation with some serious flaw in selecting the lineup and play style. And ofc their defense is more shaky than the last two since Portugal is the one team that play attacking when Denmark and Germany turtle and hit the Dutch with surprise.

Why he chose Affelay who is injured for a long time and only played a few games the whole 2011-2012 season in Barcelona to start 2 games in a row instead of VDV or Kuyt is really beyond me.

Also start with 2 defensive midfield versus Denmark is also a very bad decision.

I was saying shortly before euro starts, that holland doesn't have a key player, a high profile player that can take games on his own, you guys were saying otherwise. Well, what do you think now.

Sneijder is usually that player, but he's been injured and in poor form for the majority of the season.

Actually Sneijder is one of the few Dutch players that performed well. That 1st game vs Denmark he got alot of good pass but RVP and Huntelaar waste them all. Also, Sneijder is a creative playmaker so you need someone like Kuyt to do the running and tackling for him so he can create more chances. Playing with 3 creative but fragile midfield(Affelay, Robben, Sneijder) plus 2 that only known for destroy others team legs(De Jong, Van Bommel) is quite meh -_-.

Uh.. no?

Man this is a sad day, I always thought Netherlands had one of the strongest teams, but after today, I can only think of change. Either new players or a new coach or whatever, but staying the same just isn't gonna cut it anymore.

This team deserved to lose hard after the first 2 matches and I'm glad they did.
Next year, we'll hopefully have a new coach and a new team, because this one just doesn't work at all.

Ah well, I was hoping for Denmark or Netherlands to advance, I don't like Portugal too much. But just reading the names of the dutch players (especially on offense) and then realize they go out with zero points is totally crazy. Holland is just a master in wasting potential. Though to be fair, their defense this tournament was just laughable bad.

Be sure to send a mail to the ref for that penalty on Bendtner...

Nice game. Im happy that Portugal won ofcourse but Netherlands has some of my favorite players and it makes me sad that they had this showing in this EURO cup. I blame the manager and his decision making. After this game he could probably argue that he put the team people know its better and they still lost but it is a completely different situation. Their side played really good until our first goal, by then they probably got reminded that a miracle would be needed to advance and colapsed from there on.

Using VB and DJ against Denmark is stupid. VdV even played well at CMid with some defensive responsabilities in the past (against Italy remember?) and has the tactical knowledge to be responsible on both D and O. They ended up with a broken game flow and possession construction.

Good for us, bad for them but Im still sad to see one of my favorite teams go.

I read that you guys were going to keep the manager no matter what. That was after the first game, maybe after two more losses things changed. I hope so, for the sake of good football

I don't think you need to wait until next year for a new coach . As for players, some new defenders would be really nice since Netherlands got one of the best midfielders and strikers in the world already.

I actually missed that situation, and they didn't talk about that on german tv at all, and they normally don't just ignore things because of patriotism, so I reserve my judgement for when I see the scene, it would not be the first time that something is blown out of proportion on the internet.
Regardless, I won't lose any sleep over that and I don't know how that is relevant to what I wrote.

Portugal looked really good today, probably partly due to NL playing terrible but still.

One of the more entertaining matches so far, especially first 20ish minutes.

Ah, ok. I had that coming I guess. Though it is quite funny that I would root for Portugal in any other group, but I always root for Holland and scandinavian teams. Come to think of it, that group B really sucked, I wanted everyone to advance (just Portugal the least )
