![[image loading]](http://www.teamliquid.net/staff/Hot_Bid/TSL3/MCinterview.jpg) Q: Hello and welcome to the TSL3 tournament. What made you decide to accept your invite? To become a world star. Q: Have you heard of TL before?Yes. Q: What are goals for this tournament?A championship. Q: What do you think of the international fans who watch GSL and follow Starcraft?I think very highly of them, and I’m very thankful they made me a fanclub. Q: Do you have anything to say to them?Thank you for taking interest in me, and this season I’ll prove that I’m the best Protoss player in the world. Q: Do you think Korean Pro-gamers are more aware of international events?Yes. Q: There are many big events like IEM and MLG with big prizes in America and Europe. Would you like to go to any of them in the future? If I have the time, I would like to participate in all of them. Q: Who do you feel are the best non-Korean players? Jonathan, Chris, Idra. Q: Who have you heard of and who do you wish to play against?Idra. Q: Your opponent is ieS-Ciara, a Zerg from Denmark. Do you know anything about him?All I know is that he’s not that great a player. Q: How will you prepare for him? Are you confident you will win?I plan to play like I usually practice, and I am confident. Q: Do you think international players and Korean players play differently? How so?I think the most highly ranked players are similar. But I don’t think they have as many risky plays. Q: Blizzard is considering removing the amulet upgrade. Do you feel that it was because Protoss got better against Terran and Zerg on the new maps?No Comment. Q: What do you think of this change?I’m not happy. Q: You won the GSL3. Many fans consider you the best Protoss in the world. What do you think about the current state of Code S? Do you feel you have many competitors or are you confident you will be able to win future GSLs?I am confident that I can win it all. Q: You live in the same house as many popular Liquid players like Jinro, Huk, Haypro, etc. What are your impressions of them?Jonathan: Nice Chris: Psycho Hayder: Shy boy Q: If you had to introduce yourself to our fans who never met you, how would you describe yourself? Write a few sentences about your personality.I am a proud and provocative player. Q: What do you think are your greatest strengths and weaknesses as a player?Strengths: Confidence Weaknesses: Over-confidence Q: Who do you think have the best chances at winning TSL3?MVP, and me. Q: How do you feel the Koreans will do against the best international players?I think the Korean players will win every match.
ieS-Ciara Zerg Q: You qualified via points. How did you feel during the qualifier process? When did you know you were qualified? Have you been practicing hard since then?Getting 100 points in the first TSLopen, and scoring points in the next 2 qualifiers I played, so felt fairly confident of making it in. I'm horrible at pracitcing, I need something specific to prepare for to get my self motivatied. But really looking forward to my game vs MC, hopefully that get my blood boiling ^^. Q: You are playing against GSL3 champion oGsMC. Many fans believe he is the best Protoss in the world. How do you feel about him? What do you predict he will do against you?Of course there are other players I would rather have faced, but don't feel like MC is the worst for me. Really not that familiar with his style, some games he seem super cheesy, but no doubt he can macro as well. Think its pretty much impossible to prepare for a guy like him, just really hope I don't lose to some 4gate. Q: What would you say your chances are against him? Are you confident? Will you have something special planned? No idea how my chances are. The fact its all GSL maps certianly doesn't help me, maps I havent even played on yet. But I'm playing to win, and I'm always super confident ^^. Q: Many fans are not giving you much of a chance. Do you have anything to say to them?Think I'm better at creating haters, than fans. Obviously everyone who doesn't like me will give me little to no chance, but can't really blame them playing against MC, winner of GSL and in the finals of this GSL. Hopefully I can prove them wrong xD. Q: Tell us about your team ieS and your history as a player. What do you do outside of Starcraft?I started playing Warcraft 3 when The Frozen Throne came out, a few months after I played my first Danish qualifiers and got an invite to join MYM. I played for MYM for a very long time, 3-4 years at least. Then I joined EG with Grubby and Happy, played there for 1-2 years, and my first team in SC2 is ieS, really nice management, and a bunch of good guys. Outside SC2 there is school which is taking a beating cause of my playing! Q: If you had to introduce yourself to our fans who never met you, how would you describe yourself? Write a few sentences about your personality.Sup, my name is René Krag, also known as Ciara. Played Warcraft 3 competively on and off for years and changed to SC2 with the beta. As for the kind of person I am, I might come off as really arrogant, and thats probably because I am ^^. I tend not to care to much of what people online think of me. I'm extremely honest to the point were it pisses people off, truth hurts. Other then that I'm not really that bad a guy! I got serious motivation problems, I play way to little and watch way to many streams xD. Hopefully in the future I can restrain myself from wasting my time, and using it for playing! Q: What do you think are your greatest strengths and weaknesses as a player?I play Zerg, I only got weaknesses! Jokes aside, I feel really comfortable in longer games, I like it when I get to macro up and kinda overwhelm my opponent, which brings me to my weakness which would probably be over droning, really love my drones... often to the point were it kills me ^^. Q: Which other matches are you interested in? Why? Who do you believe will win?Every match that has a Zerg I'm probably going to watch, and I'm cheering for all other Zergs!! Hopefully one will make it into the Round of 16. Really hope Nestea or Idra will make it far, probably the players I enjoy watching the most. Q: Do you have anything to say to your fans and supporters before the Round of 32?Shoutout to my team ieS, check us out at http://www.myies.ch/iescms and of course a shoutout to the love of my life Pzys, I love you man! And don't forget to tune in to watch me spank MC!
mouz.HasuObs Protoss Q: You qualified on the last TSL3 qualifier. Give us your thoughts about the TSL qualifiers and your goals for the TSL3.I'm really happy that I qualified myself for the TSL3. I made it possible in the last qualifier and now I'm looking forward to my first match in the TSL3. Actually I don't have any particular goals, I just want to do my best and show some nice games. Q: Your Ro32 opponent is Liquid`Huk. How do you feel about him? Are you confident you can beat him?HuK is in Korea for a while and practices alot, nevertheless its Protoss mirror. In the Protoss mirror matchup pretty much everything is possible, but I have to admit that HuK is the favourite of the match. But I prepared myself and hope the games will be entertaining! Q: How is your PvP? Do you feel that PvP favors risky builds or is it possible to consistently win in it?My PvP is decent. Its not my best matchup and also not my worst. I'm pretty sure that PvP favors risky builds, sometimes you get an advantage just because you choose the "right" build order. But overall I believe that it's still possible to play consistently good Protoss mirror matches. Sometimes you get blind-countered, but that happens in every matchup. No risk, no fun! Q: Do you feel that practicing in Korea gives players a big advantage? Do you feel the NA/EU players will do well against the Koreans?I think it helps a lot to practice in Korea. HuK concentrates all his energy on SC2, I think he's in great shape right now. I really hope that the non-Korean players can pull off a good fight against the almighty Koreans =). Q: If you had to introduce yourself to our fans who never met you, how would you describe yourself? Write a few sentences about your personality. What can I tell you about myself? Im not sure, but I think I'm a nice guy <3. Q: What do you think are your greatest strengths and weaknesses as a player? My strengths are the microfights and my decision making. Sometimes I still struggle with my macro, but I'm working on it. I think it already improved. Q: Which matches (other than your own) are you interested in? Why? Who do you believe will win?I will follow the matches of my teammates Morrow and Strelok. They both will have a tough time to win Jinro/Tyler, but i believe they can advance to the Round of 16! Q: Do you have anything to say to your fans and supporters before the Round of 32?Thanks to everyone who is cheering for me! Thanks to my team Mousesports, Thanks to all Sponsors and Partners. Follow me on: http://www.facebook.com/HasuObsAnd don't forget to tune in all the great TSL3 matches!
TLAF-Liquid.Huk Protoss Q: Your first round opponent is mouz.HasuObs. Do you know anything about him? Are you confident you can beat him?I know about him, German Protoss player. I'm not really that confident. Q: PvP is a very volatile matchup. Do you feel your PvP is strong? Do you like the matchup? Why or why not?I feel PvP is my weakest matchup, just because its so chancy you have the biggest chance to lose to a worse opponent. Q: What are your goals for the TSL3? Who would you like to face?To win obviously, I would like to play Koreans as much as possible. Q: You recently qualified for Code S. How is your time in Korea thus far? Do you feel it's been worth it?Good, I love Korea, I'm very happy with my choice to come here and compete and don't plan to leave anytime soon. Q: What do you think are the biggest differences between Korea and international practice and play styles? Practice wise Koreans are better at practicing in every way, practice harder, and know how to practice more efficiently. Play style wise I think Koreans are more aggressive and faster. Q: Do you feel the Koreans will dominate this tournament? Or do you think the NA/EU players have a good chance to upset them?I don't know about dominate but I think Koreans will do really well. I think there can be some upsets especially in the first few rounds just because its Starcraft 2 and anything can happen. Q: If you had to introduce yourself to our fans who never met you, how would you describe yourself? Write a few sentences about your personality.Honorable, honest, and generally like to have fun and make sure people around me are as well ^.^;;. Well its hard to try to write about yourself but most people think I'm really fun in real life and online, I like to joke around a lot and make people laugh, Koreans think I'm crazy. Q: What do you think are your greatest strengths and weaknesses as a player?Greatest strength I would say is my control and speed, greatest weakness is being too cocky and playing too fast. Q: Which other matches are you interested in? Who do you believe will win? Most interested in Dario (TLO) vs NaDa because it will be very exciting and I think TLO will win. Q: Do you have anything to say to your fans and supporters before the Round of 32?Thanks, I love you and I'll do my best!

All I know is that he’s not that great a player.
Oh, MC.
Trolling like a champ.

MC is such a boss in this interview, I like how he called Huk a psycho.
Feel bad for Ciara. Not only will he get stomped, but if he DOES win, he still loses because most people will be mad at him for ruining their brackets.
I'm getting extremely excited for this! I love that MC recognizes that not only is confidence his biggest strength, but also his biggest weakness.
OGS - TLAF Hwaiting!

I like how he called Huk psycho, meanwhile Huk said "Koreans think I'm crazy".

huk thinking TLO will beat Nada... I guess he lives with one and is teammates with another so lawl
MC such a boss, strength: confidence weakness: over confidence LOL
Haha great interviews, MC is such a boss, Hayder such a shy boy! Poor Ciara at least he is feeling pretty good about it and not entirely nervous about it.
I love how short MC's answers are.
Q: You live in the same house as many popular Liquid players like Jinro, Huk, Haypro, etc. What are your impressions of them?

MC is hilarious.
I'm really looking forward to the Korean vs Foreigner matchups, to get a sense for how the game is progressing worldwide.
No-nonsense from MC - lol.
MC is an amazing player and amazing interview. How can everyone not love him?

Oh my MC. What a fantastic individual.

haha MC straight and to the point, not mincing any words. It seems like Hasu is more confident than Huk going into the matches, will be quite interesting to see how that plays out and if it affects the mindgames as far as build order boldness etc

Judging by previous streams of him and his interview I doubt he cares much about that, hes pretty much a european idra without all the limelight, honestly i dont think there could be something better for sc2 then ciara 6pooling or roach rushing MC and winning:D, what an insane story to start of the tournament
"Q: Blizzard is considering removing the amulet upgrade. Do you feel that it was because Protoss got better against Terran and Zerg on the new maps?
LOL what a baller. MC is such a badass, always straight and to the point.
MC's interview, strongest interview. If MC loses, my entire bracket is totally fucked. GO MC!
Also, my hopes and dreams go out to HuK to win his PvP, the oddest matchup in sc2. HuK HWAITING! =D
Q: Who have you heard of and who do you wish to play against?
Idra.
They can only meet in the finals. I would love it if that happened
Nice interviews, really like MC's. The thing I love the most about these interviews is seeing the drawings of the players. Glider is an amazing artist and a bro for drawing every player in the tournament.
MC is so epic at trolling. He'd better not get upset by Ciara. This point is gonna decide liquibet winner I'm sure.
Haha MC gave the most concise and yet somehow the most shit-talk filled interview ever. Awesome.
MC and HuK for the win!!!! gl hf. rooting for u 2
Great interview also LOL at MC's
Thank you so much for these interviews!
MC:
Q: What do you think are your greatest strengths and weaknesses as a player?
Strengths: Confidence Weaknesses: Over-confidence Wow I'm glad that he's aware of it I love his personality more & more everyday.
Ciara:
which brings me to my weakness which would probably be over droning, really love my drones... often to the point were it kills me ^^. Reminds me of another Zerg, named Ret
I love MC and Huk but for once I'll certainly cheer for the underdogs, Ciara and Hasuobs. Europe Fighting!
pvp is a tough one to predict. I love that MC has no comment on the amulet nerf.
I wonder if it is as difficult to get a long conversation out of MC as it appears in this interview, all his answers are so short, no drawn out discussion or contemplation. Well, I guess he was to the point :p
LOL I love MC's commitment to his tough-guy persona.
Hopefully more players develop interesting personalities to spice up the various tournaments.
lol MC trolling, great interviews too!
CANNOT WAIT FOR TLO AND NADA INTERVIEWWWWWWW
MC and his short answers are pretty baller I must say.
I really hope Ciara can prove the world that underdogs are not to be underestimated.. even thou im not Ciara's fan.. it would be interesting to watch..
"shoutout to the love of my life Pzys, I love you man!" - hmmm am I missing something?? please explain
awesome interviews. I like Ciara's state of mind. he is gonna spank MC
MC and his short answers really makes me mad because I wanted to get inside his head and learn what he's thinking about. Not these short question responses.
I really didnt like MC's interview, it really seemed like he didnt care and his confidence turned into cockiness.
Though I would love to see a some upsets, I'm hoping MC will continue his dominant form. I'm hoping sc2 can have some stable superstars that can consistently perform, otherwise the game will have no core in my opinion.
MC. Straight to the point. No fluff. The cheese-length of interview answers (which fits with the Ciara troll, lawl).
Other than that, not as eventful as the other interviews. I LOVE having all of these, though! It's a huge buildup that is really awesome!
Strange that HuK seemed to backtrack. I remember him talking about dominating the first round before (unless I'm, for some reason, remembering in correctly). Maybe the idea of PvP is just getting to him (but who DOESN'T it get to!?).
Why is MC just so baller? Oh, and Ciara is going to get raped
Standing on top of the best tourney, MC EARNED the right to smack talk like that. Good for him!
ionno if a 6 pool or roach rush would even beat MC o-o he held off sanzenith's cannon rush this season and IMseed's proxy 2 gate very well and didn't seem to get nervous about it. MC hwaiting!
Very glad to get a sense of Ciara and his personality. I've heard very little of him prior to the TSL points ladder. Perhaps it's due to the European scene being my least knowledgable of the three main SC2 regions. Best of luck to the Zerg players, but for Ciara I think he'll really need it...
However, I'm going to have to be rooting for MC. His confident trolling demeanor is fantastically entertaining. I find it so funny how he can pull off the confidence without seeming like a total douche, as opposed to a Korean player like Genius.
Looking forward to watching the start of my first TSL. Gogo HuK! Canadian in the fray, HuK hwaiting!

LOL that made me laugh rofl. I wonder why he thinks that ^_^
MC is in total Baller/Boss mode!
Ahahaha i bet Huk told Mc that Ciarra wasnt that great. Though Hasub and Ciarra sound like good guys.
MC`s interview is only second best to Boxer`s interview. Some classic answers. The ''I want to become a World star'' answer is hilarious.
You can be cocky when you`re that great. And there`s a sense of humour in his answer, so don`t cry too many tears BluR..<3
Loll, Ciara is my new favorite player. Think I'm better at creating haters, than fans. Too bad MC is going to troll-roll him. How do I simultaneously hate MC and worship him?
On a 'Side' note, MC is insufferingly vague at points. "But I don’t think they have as many risky plays." ?? Please. Whom is he referring to??
MC is too gosu, he's right though him or MVP probably will win it all. Interesting that he wants to play idra
LMAO "jonathon, chris, and IDRA"
Haha "shy boy"
edit: would've been better if he said "grack" instead of idra

Why did MC's interview make me laugh so much? MC gogogo!
I'm gonna have to disagree with a lot of the people here, I didn't really like MC's interview. He's obviously an amazing player but he just seemed cocky and even apathetic like it wasn't worth his time. Compare that to Boxer's interview: he is so passionate about ESPORTS and talked about how players need to create interesting story lines and get the fans involved. No disrespect to MC, but he didn't really do that for me.

I thought after Jinro crushed him he'd have more respect for foreigners.

MC always talks like this though; in all his interviews. He has the right to be cocky when he has a very high chance to be a 2-time gsl champion. Of course his interview is nothing compared to boxer's, but that's just his style.

MC is playing up to his persona. Or that's actually how he is. Either way it's a brilliant interview, it fits him perfectly.
It's like people that complain when Idra doesn't GG. It's brilliant when Idra doesn't GG, that's what makes him Idra.
After reading MC's interview I really hope Ciara kicks his ass... Fine he wants to act all cocky and stuff, but saying things like "Koreans will win every match" doesn't endear him at all to me..
Don't understand what everyone likes about his interview..

but to be fair, he is right, isnt he ?
Dont understand me wrong, Ciara is good BUT i think he is the worst player this tournament and there are alot stronger players out there like Socke and Mana who didnt qualifier

I agree, although I have to admit that I can't tell if MC is just plain trolling or actually that cocky.
Classic interview with MC! This will go down in SC2 history hahah! :D
MC! So straightforward. I love it.
Lol 'What do you think of this change?' MC: I am not happy. So that's why MC's portrait is so surly. I hope blizzard is reconsidering the removing amulet because you don't want to make MC angry. You wouldn't like MC when he's angry.
Lol, you gotta love MC! playing and! talking like a true Kratos-Protoss!
luv MC keeping it real. HuK needs just 5% of MC's confidence to take him to next level.

It's just his way of making things interesting and stirring up drama. I welcome it. He's actually a very nice guy. You shouldn't take what he says too literally

i could actually picture MC saying those in his funny English
what a boss
I'm really hoping Ciara 2-0s MC. That said, I have to respect MC for not giving the kind of boring, respectful responses I came to expect from most bw pros.
If the MC interview was done in English and not translated from Korean for us, that would explain the few words you guys complain about. I love it either way.

I thought MC's interview was hilarious. It's great that there are all kinds of different personalities who give different kinds of interviews. At least no one can ever complain about MC giving a typical korean interview.
"Chris - Psycho"
ROFL. No offense to greatest protoss player but he does seems to be hyper active in some videos. Too much sugar? That was really entertaining interview keep 'em coming...
MC is to badass to let you people know what's going on in his nerd baller head, and to all the haters, if you don't like him being the way he is, prove him wrong and beat him, going to the finals in the GSL where not even MVP could get past round of 32, and his "score" is 10-1 based on every single map he played in this season he only lost 1 map... he has all the rights to act as badass as he does, it's wonderfull to see a pro player with a personality.
You should exchange MC's pictures with a Picture of the Terminator and also let Arnold do the Vocals :D.
this is why i love MC. He's flowing with confidence
I think it's great seeing so much personalities in these players now.
It also seems that MC is really comfortable with the foreign scene. So many of the pro-players always seems really polite and tentative when talking about their foreign fans (how many times have we heard the reply to a question that has mention of foreign fans something along the lines of 'i'll try my hardest and be a good player'), but MC seems to really embrace TL and the whole foreign exposure he's getting.
I'm also glad that MC seems to have brought back to his baller arrogant persona.
I cant remember where it was, i think it was either the Nal_ra or Hyungjoon series or some random other interview where it talked about MC/IrOn being really cocky to only screw up really embarrassingly later, but it's great.
Bring back the Suicide Toss!
All the best to Ciara though :p.
I'm also a huge fanboy for HuK. I always had the early impression from hearing about him that he was some sort of loud arrogant american player. But the more I see him and the more interviews i read, he seems to have this infectious sort of introverted extrovert personality that I think works well for him, where you cant help but think he's a little crazy but awesome. I hope he keeps training hard and keeps on going well in his pro-gaming career!
I think it's also awesome to see MC and a few other Korean gamers warm up to the foreigners, I just remember reading about Ret's experience in Korea and thinking that the Korean gamers were all kinda unfriendly and rude.
Oh MC, you are such a bad ass.
MC did not mention "try my hardest" in his entire interview. Is he really korean ?
MC balling it up nice an short! He is so gonna own white dudes :D
Ciara BM's other players and then wonders why no one likes him. I look forward to seeing him get crushed.
Huk vs Hasu is going to be interesting. All very exciting!

I don't think Ciara wonders, he seems well aware that he is apt at creating anti-fans.
I love MC, he's gonna stomp all over Ciara (poor guy). HasuObs definitely seems like he can take down HuK. Great interviews all around.
On March 18 2011 16:12 nufcrulz wrote: After reading MC's interview I really hope Ciara kicks his ass... Fine he wants to act all cocky and stuff, but saying things like "Koreans will win every match" doesn't endear him at all to me..
Don't understand what everyone likes about his interview.. Part of it is that he's not your typical Korean player in terms of personality. He doesn't give the typical responses. He's very cocky, but he backs it up with his awesome play. He's also very friendly with the Liquid players and the foreign community.
I'll concede the "Koreans will win every match" part, tho. I hope some Koreans (except MC ) go down early.

MC same as always, confident and straight to the point. I can't wait to see his match. Not a huge fan of the PvP match-up, but I think Huk and HasuObs should be interesting to watch. It's funny how MC calls Huk a psycho and Huk says that Koreans think he's crazy. Go Suicide Toss!

That is a pretty bad-mannered response from MC. To the people who think that winning the GSL or whatever makes you special or in some way allows you to be cocky on an international platform, no it doesn't.

Get 'em Ciara! Denmark represent
wth why are people hating on mc's interview saying he doesnt care.
that is obviously his style/persona. Dude is cocky/confident in the least word possible. I mean his famous line is "Zealot tank. Stalker hit. Sentry Forcefields. Marauder die die". He does not bother to talk in full sentences. Or I" all in He drone drone drone. I win"
I much rather prefer the Koreans to stick to their style rather than give standard generic boring answer.
MC is a fantastic personality within the SC2 scene, and he has reason to be cocky since he is the best protoss in the world and maybe even the best player. He is a STRAIGHT UP BALLER, all you non-ballers can only cry and moan about how he is "bm" or "his answers are short"- He's just gonna keep you rolling your ass, and if you were so lucky to meet him and real life and tell him what you REALLY think of him I hope he oozes baller-gas all over you and your face melts off. He won't care and neither would I.

Loving this interviews. Hopefully an admin can answer this question, but is there going to be interviews before each match or only for the round of 32?
I really don't get all that love for the MC interview in this thread.
yeah, he called huk a psycho, but we already knew that, but seriously, can't you at least get half a sentence as answer for each question?
he just acts as if he doesn't give a shit for that tournament and it seems he is annoyed to have to give an interview for it.

Of course there are other players I would rather have faced, but don't feel like MC is the worst for me. Really not that familiar with his style, some games he seem super cheesy, but no doubt he can macro as well. I was wondering aswell. if I would expect to go against a GSL champion like MC I wouldnt just think "no doubt he can macro as well" compared to my own standarts lol. If I would expect anything than that he is mechanical superior in every regard independent from what style he prefers and shows in the important matches. maybe he thinks that his lack of practice that he mentions and not beeing protoss prevents him from beeing the second mc.

I cant believe that people are complaining about MC's short answers, he is definitely my favourite player and is exactly the sort of personality the game needs, he is enjoying the rewards for his hard work and talent but his opponents will benefit from not having to play against him on a stage if any of you havent seen it go check out the Fou video on the MC fanclub, if he is arrogant then why do the Liquid guys who stay with him like him so much and vice versa, much rather this guy being funny and confident when he is at the top than a player who whines about balance and maps, that in my opinion is much more arrogant and cocky

hope MC doesnt get eliminated by ciara lol

MC such a boss haha. Hope he wins!

Chris: Psycho
Ahahaha. I like that.

Hahaha, MC interview is the best one I've seen for Sc2. He sounded almost like a spartan with the short anwsers.
hahahaha MC's interview is amazing
I will win. Koreans will win.
Huk = Psycho
If I had to guess, I'd say MC's answers were probably short because he probably answered them in English rather than answer in Korean and have them translated. In interviews with Artosis, he always tried to answer at least one question in English. You're never going to be as articulate in your second language.
Fantastic interviews. Good to see the MC vs Ciara game already have two players who know nothing about each other but already consider each other their sworn enemy and pretty much insulted each other at the same time without knowing it.
Love MC's one word answers lol although his best answer was
"I'm not happy."
Look out Blizzard lol
MC in boss mode <3 <3 Bosstoss fighting!!!
Dont see how people can call mc bm or anything like that, guys just confident and if you have seen his video interviews and stuff hes normally giggling a bit while saying stuff like that, its mindgames/trolling, personally i like it, way better than the BW progamer 'i will try hard' interviews.
Cant wait to see the games i have a feeling ciara might take a game with a cheeky 6pool or something and i cant wait to see the pvp i hope we get to see some new strategies
Haha, Ciara has it wrong: Even if he were universally loved throughout the world, he'd STILL be the underdog against the monster that is MC. Heck, most of the predictions I've seen pretty much go along the lines of "I feel sorry for Ciara, he's fucked six ways from sunday".
For some reason I really didn't like HasuObs but I think this interview changed my mind. Too bad he's facing Huk Huk Fighting!
Wow, I've not read or seen many interviews with MC, but he seems quite funny, albeit short spoken.
Does he usually come off this way (short, but funny and to the point?) If so, are there other good interviews we should be reading?
Can't wait for TSL!
Q: Blizzard is considering removing the amulet upgrade. Do you feel that it was because Protoss got better against Terran and Zerg on the new maps?
LOL
Lols, asks to write a few sentences about himself. Says like 6 words. Min-Chul you fucking baller.
I don't like Ciara very much, and I quite like MC, but I have to admit that Ciara somehow beating MC would be very fun indeed. Same with Thorzain and Fruitdealer, but there I'd probably be cheering for the fellow Terran (and foreigner, and Scandinavian I suppose) anyway.
"Q: What do you think are your greatest strengths and weaknesses as a player?
Strengths: Confidence Weaknesses: Over-confidence"
Best answer yet. ^^ BOSSTOSS Fighting!

MC so baller! Suicide Toss hwaiting!

the greatest strength/weakness answer from mc has to be one of the best interview answers I've ever read lol.

MC's interview was awesome, nice to see more of the player's personalities. Eagerly awaiting TSL3!

that is obviously his style/persona.
MC= Caveman protoss

MCs interview made me giggle. How do you even respond to something like that?
On a side note, I hope Huk gets past this PvP I think he can win but I admit to being exetremely worried for him.
Strengths: Confidence Weaknesses: Over-confidence No shit suicide toss.

So stunned that westerners are very generous...
MC's local interviews're almost same and many blames for his rudeness/hubris. Ah,,, now those blames soothing down cuz he is damn too good at playing though.
If he loses vs july today, MC haters will twist and shout louder just like vs jinro before... ^ ^
Haha, it would be so awesome if MC gets raped by ciara. But I think we all know that won't happen

HuK believes in TLO defeating NaDa?? Wow that's so strange imo :O TLO seems in a terrible shape compared to when he started, while NaDa is so strong and does so well in Code S, I always believed it will just be an easy win for NaDa. TLO seems a little like Boxer to me: Screwing up to play a normal game, but then showing some elements of genius when already on the losing edge, embarassing his opponent for a few minutes, before losing then. Only that Boxer's genius is much stronger and he's also on a slightly higher level overall.
I'm really surprised by MC showing his confidence so openly, it's not something I'm used of Koreans, even though when they have every reason to do so, like MC certainly has. Also: "Chris: Psycho" :D
I like Hasu's replies, he seems always eager to answer questions right and doesn't seem to have (or hide) any kind of cockiness. I hope he'll do well.
MC isint trying to be insulting with his answers im sure he feels he puts in the most effort and deserves to win the most because of it. i dont think youll ever find someone say 'i trained much harder than mc and i definately deserve to beat him', maybe next year at the soonest. not sure how old the interviews are but ciara says hes never even played on the maps before.... mc will probably have a heart attack if he doesnt win 2/0.
if you do your job 80 hours a week and youve recieved a symbol of your proving yourself to be the best in the world and someone else does the same job but 30 hours a week most people wouldent be able to say they both have a similar skill level, even if their a fan of the underdog.
the overall 'person living in korea' sc2 interview sounds like: my entire life is sc2, i practice insanely hard every day and im extremely confident.
the average 'living outside of korea' interview sounds like: im extremely busy and cant practise as much as i should, even when im not busy i tend to get distracted that not practice that seriously. but ill try my best since i have an event comming up.
im a fan of alot of na/eu players but people living in team houses will always be my favorite players because i think they deserve to win the most and they advance the game the fastest.
This is how MC vs Ciara is gonna go.
Ciara: "My weakness which would probably be over droning, really love my drones... often to the point were it kills me ^^."
MC: "Me all in, he drone drone drone, me win."
THE END.
FYI... recent interview of MC & July
MC : I have a plan to win at least 8 champiohships 2011. This GSL march is one of them.July's aggressive instinct can be a strong point when he is in vantage but also can be drawbacks. Expect 4:0 against any other gamer but this time 4:1 win cuz it is July. I wanna be the first 2 times winner of GSL.
July : I like the word 'FIRST'. I wish July could be recored the first gamer who won SC1 and SC2 both. Though MC is not a piece of cake, I show everything I have prepared for. Especially heaps of expierences of Final can be my big weapon and when I see MC on the stage, my killer instinct will be doubled.
MC's answers in interviews is exactly how he plays - sickly straight and sickly strong such an awesome playa
Its funny I bet Ciara played his ASS OFF to qualify only to get paired against MC. It'd be a nice experience to get to play vs. MC in front of 25k + nerds though so I'm sure hes not too upset that his TSL run is going to end on the first day.
MC: "Chris: Psycho"
Huk: "Koreans think I'm crazy."
I lol'd so hard. MC's answer to the strengths weaknesses is awesome too. He's so short-spoken but bold and humorous. Very cool.
These interviews are great so far.
That MC interview is really a gem. The way he went into such depth discussing his feelings about the possible amulet nerf, his feelings about foreign players... Just all around fantastic.
That said, part of me wants to see Ciara bounce him, just to stand up for the international scene
Mc so good.
Can't wait to see what the numbers will be for the TSL this time, i bet 50k with korean stream.
I'm not trying to troll:
But I think MC was a total douge on this interview.
Ciara's got balls... and maybe not a brain... He's like, "MC's a fuckin'g cheeser, I'll stomp him with superior macro!"
I hope Ciara wins... just so that we can all lol.... MC's gonna liquify him...
Thanks for the translation!
I love MCs interview as well as Huks. I love the way he answers the questions short and sharp without talking some boring stuff everyone already knows
MC does not Min Chul words. HA. Yeah, it's not really that funny. GO JINRO!

I've watched Ciara beating White-Ra on his stream - If I could put money on this match I would put a butt-load on Ciara - not because I love underdogs but because I think MC's arrogance might make him make enough mistakes for Ciara to exploit them. Aw, heck, who am I kidding. Still, I'd love to see Ciara crush MC - even though I always cheer for P and especially for MC in the GSL.

It's their culture. In a formal situation (which, when strangers are questioning you, is formal to them), your answers are short and to the point.

Of course there are other players I would rather have faced, but don't feel like MC is the worst for me. Really not that familiar with his style, some games he seem super cheesy, but no doubt he can macro as well. Think its pretty much impossible to prepare for a guy like him, just really hope I don't lose to some 4gate. Does he not know who MC is? o_o I was wondering aswell. if I would expect to go against a GSL champion like MC I wouldnt just think "no doubt he can macro as well" compared to my own standarts lol.
He means MC is good at both macro and "cheesy" builds. Ciara isn't saying his macro is better than MC's.

it feels like the translator for MC was abit brief... i would of fort of all people MC wouldnt give one word answers xD
and i REALLY wish more esports players would have more of a personality around them. a great reason why sports sells is greatly for the personality behind them, most sc2 players i feel are hard to market. i believe they are all very different people when away from the camera...

I wonder if MC's answers are short because he decided to answer in English on his own. Knowing him, that wouldn't really surprise me. MC is definitely one of the players with more personality, but it's also possible that he just didn't feel like saying too much to an audience that he's really not familiar with. MC is hilarious tho... I really hope someone knocks him out or gives him a hell-uva run for it! Saying Koreans will not lose a single game is pretty ballsy... besides, MVP hasn't been himself lately... (which doesn't necessarily mean that he'll be an easy target.)
