I feel free to admit it now thanks to Bob Geldof oddly enough. He described a similar gap in knowledge in his autobiography, giving me courage in the knowledge I wasn’t alone. As to why I read Bob Geldof’s autobiography as a youngster while being unaware of both the work of the Boomtown Rats and his prominent role in Live Aid I’m quite confused. I know of him through his work with Pink Floyd! What was his gap in knowledge? (sorry for offtopic)

I don't get how you can be on this site with 150 post and then post this and think that'll be accepted. (In the TLO thread).

He's been a shitposter since the start. Anyone who rubs two brain cells together hard enough would come up with some quick answers to why they would keep TLO despite a lack of recent results, and even more reasons not to make a shit post like that. It's either an absence of those two brain cells or an outright choice to ignore them that leads to posts such as the one above.

also wasn't TLO basically a liquid employee and a part time pro player the past year or so?

Idiocy. Alas much of the internet is like this, quite thankful TL is not

Good riddance either way. I just like pointing out when people in addition to being assholes completely get what their talking about wrong on a basic factual level.

Harstem or TLO aren’t beloved for being nice, it comes with the territory but they have a lot of other skills and are still at the top 1% of people who play the game. I mean they are nice guys too which helps.
Harstem casts pretty bloody well frequently, does his content and his ‘is it imba or do I suck’ series is both analytically useful for us plebs but but also has a nice biting humour to it. Guys got a fair bit of talent across a few areas.
Far be it from me to demand anything from anyone in the scene, and TLO’s clearly got the competitive gene in him, if there’s one pity from him leaving the scene as a pro presence for me it’s that he didn’t throw himself into 6-12 months as a caster
Grubby did it a bit and was one of my favourite casters ever, Idra was actually great at it with a foil and of course le ToD did it for a good while.
Anyone knocking of the door of top 100 in the world, who’s a good communicator and especially in TLO’s case has an interesting approach to the game is a bit of a loss at the casting side.
Not to disparage anyone but we have a real lack of top, top GM level players casting these days. Strangely it was better in the olden days, whereas you’d think now would be a ripe time for people transitioning out of being competitive pros

There are some other players at similar levels that can't. I'm just pleased when those that do are good people as well! It is nice that it is not a completely cut throat business where only results matter. Oh yeah absolutely. Though there is money in it I mean really is a single SC2 pro pursuing this course in life for money? Be it a love for figuring out complex problems, pure competition or just a love for the sense of community. Lots of great individuals, some of whom I’m happy to have met over the years or interacted with.
