Admins can only ban staff because they're the only people that can control user rank, i.e. they're capable of destaffing someone then banning them. I don't really see TL's hierarchy as rigid as you might think. Firstly, writers and graphics are staff (except while they're on trial), and most people with a title are staff (with exception to progamers). The only divisions are really admin > red > blue > staff > everyone else, but even then I don't think that is set in stone or in any was reflective of the day to day running of TL. For instance, Jer isn't a admin but is larlgely responsible for a lot of the strategy stuff these days which means he serves a very important role on TL.

Posting pros are valuable for the site, but don't represent the site and can easily switch to other sites, so it is natural to put some extra effort into making their stay comfortable. A moderator though is pretty replaceable (right?), represents the site to some extent and can't easily jump over to a mod position at another site.

A progamer is also replacable. You just have to train someone to win a couple major tournament, get a team, and the job's done! Oh, wait... :D
(Props to the pros!)

The real power ranking of the mods in fact goes by the number of their post in this thread.
Now just watch them all panic as the secret is out.

Now just watch them all panic as the secret is out. That's impossible. I would be above KadaverBB in that case.

That's because it's actually the "number of their posts in this thread" minus the "number of posts about them in this thread".

Didn't read the source material, thought it was part of a larger document. Man, some of the posts under mine are just cringe worthy, get your priorities straight and stop derailing threads with backseat moderating and trolling. I guess rules of engagement being open source would be a bad idea now that I think about it. The issue of Russian sorties in Syria was magnified in recent days after Turkey downed a Su-24 fighter jet that it claims entered its air space near the border.
According to Israeli military officials, such a scenario is not in danger of repeating itself in the skies over the Golan Heights.
"The Russian military is a new, key player which we are not ignoring," a senior military official told reporters on Thursday. "There is a clear boundary here, and they are busy with their matters, and we are busy with ours."
When asked if Israel would hypothetically intercept a Russian jet that crossed into its air space, the official said: "Our policy is that we do not attack or down anything that is Russian." http://www.jpost.com/Middle-East/Israel-wont-down-a-Russian-warplane-if-it-enters-its-air-space-435493edit: Maybe relations between Israel and Russia will get better after this incident? I think everyone in the region is very nervous about the S-400 that just came in. User was temp banned for this post.
