Is it really off-topic though? Before that thread was closed, it went exactly where I thought it would go. The videogame market is slowly expanding. There's a subset of gamers who grew up playing games like Doom and Quake and they resent everybody from female gamers to older gamers, casual gamers, mobile gamers, Facebook gamers, browser-based gamers and what have you. They despise everybody playing a non-AAA, twitch-based, ultra-competitive game. I thought that that was pretty much the driving force of the whole discussion.
