And for us it gives us a firm idea on who to take reporting abilities away from rather than just 'man, I feel like I've seen a lot of bad reports from this guy, maybe I should make a note.' Moves it away from the subjective and to the objective.
Let's be honest, it's all about e-penises.

insitelol was just temp banned for 2 days by KadaverBB.
That account was created on 2012-08-02 04:06:24 and had 98 posts.
Reason: Sorry, when you say stuff like "please don't ban me" you automatically get banned. No exceptions.
There is no need for martyring
But that wasn't Martyring though?

He posted 'pls don't ban me!', why is that not matyring?

Is "Ban me whatever" martyring?

If so then I know of a ban exception which if revealed could change everything. Netizen outrage. Banling blood on the forums. Where is our moderation god now

Do I need to ban you before you reveal anything
|
There's only one way to be sure

Well, I still don't see how "please _don't_ ban me" is martyring. It's almost like the opposite.
|
"Please don't ban me" indicates a belief that the mods would see the post as ban-worthy, yet the poster still feels the need to post it.
|
But you read that post you can see that it's written in half-jest.
Anyway, here are examples of martyring IMO: "I don't care if I get banned for this blah blah.. ", "you can ban me but blah blah", "I'm sure I'll get banned for this blah blah", "Go ahead and ban blah blah".

Doesn't matter if you do it in jest or not, posting "please don't ban me" "you might ban me for this, but..." "I hope I don't get banned for this" etc. will ALWAYS get your ass banned, it's one of the iron principles of TL and even in the ten commandments. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/tl-community/17883-tlnet-ten-commandments Now you can of course argue all you want, but if most people here (or all) and especially the mods disagree with you it doesn't really matter, TL was never a democracy, it has always been a benevolent dictatorship, so in the end what the mods say goes as long as they are backed by Nazgul.
TLDNR: Don't mention getting banned for your post in your post, deal with it.
And to be honest, "please don't ban me" is even one of the classics.

That guy must have the greatest report-history ever if he didn't get banned for the flaming part alone already.

He didn't have any history whatsoever and Kadaver warned him for the flaming. I suspect Kadaver missed the matyr part. Oh well.

Well "Martyring = Ban" is an equation, and we all know what happens to kadaver once math appears.
