This thread is for discussing recent bans. Don't discuss other topics here. Take it to website feedback if you disagree with a ban or want to raise an issue. Keep it civil.NOTE: For those of you who want to find the actual ABL thread where the bans are posted. Please look in here: https://tl.net/forum/closed-threads/ |
Furry-Paws was just banned by KadaverBB.
That account was created on 2013-06-07 05:14:18 and had 7 posts.
Reason: I told you to wait out your ban on your original account dude.
Fuck yeah I actually recognized a ban dodger. He created the account today just to start shitting up the religious accomodations in sports threads. Thankfully he'll be out for a while

This is one of the reasons I finally stopped lurking and register in TL. Too funny about the reasons some guys get banned.

I was kinda curious to see what led to that being a perm, so I checked out his history. It turns out that if you're a moderately crappy poster for 19 posts (no warnings or bans, but certainly nothing good), then for your 20th post, suggest drugging and raping women as a way to get laid, you get permed. Hey, who knew?

To say it's "mandatory" is insane, you can't make up your own rules and then say: "Well, by the rules my little cult made up, and I deliberately choose to subscribe to, I have to do X. Clearly your rules don't matter as much as mine, because yours are man-made, but mine are... well, man made as well but I choose not to believe that."
I really don't understand this. If a political ideology is clearly irrational and potentially harmful, we try to apply reason in order to combat it. If traditions infringe the human rights we take for granted, we try to apply reason in order to prevent it from happening.
If an entity in society insists on making up their own rules, not based on rationality, not based on reason or fact, but out of pure superstition and "tradition" (read in this case: superstition that had time to age), why should it be exempt from rational scrutiny?
Surely we can't bend over and accept to get mounted every time one religious group or another feels like we don't appreciate their imaginary friends as much as they do.
FIFA has rules, too. FIFA has tradition, too.

Furry must have had a really bad mod history for that to be a perm. Otherwise, it seems quite heavy-handed (I'd probably have maxed out at a 30-day temp and a stern verbal warning to play well with others, but maybe I'm generous). It was pretty insensitive and obtuse to say what was said. I had a feeling it wouldn't end well for this post when I read it. Oh, and what the hell is a Pastafarian?

It's a follower of a fictitious religion typically used by those trying to express why religion attribute X is silly. They 'worship' the flying spaghetti monster (FSM) having been touched by his noodly appendage, can sometimes be seen wearing pasta strainers and expresss things such as the correlation between the number of pirates in the world reducing and global temperatures increasing.

Some people could use their time far more effectively imo.

And do what, debate religious apologists and try to apply logic to intelligent design? That's the real waste of time, might as well mock it.
