Thanks for coming
On Friday June 17th the GSL Super Tournament finals will be on and a Toronto event will be held at Victory Cafe. Come and join us at 9pm for the finals of the quest for the best followed by the GSL at 2:00am
After the success of TSL3 finals event in a pub we came to conclusion that there is a way to do it for the GSL as well! Sports are watched in sports bars. Isn't E-SPORT and StarCraft a legit sport?! Our answer is YES IT IS! So:
WHEN:
Friday, June 17th. 9:00pm to 4:00am
WHERE:
Victory Cafe. The venue is located at 581 Markham St. Bathurst&Bloor area - Mirvish village. The main event will be held on the second floor.
Fees and tickets:
+ Show Spoiler +Traditionally our GSL theatre events are free of charge to attend. So NO tickets will be sold, just come in and join the party! However we strongly encourage donations to cover the costs of hosting the event and to make e-Sports in Toronto even bigger. Donation box will be somewhere close to the bar.
Transportation:
+ Show Spoiler +The venue is easily accessible by TTC and is just steps away from the Bathurst subway station. Also there is a BlueNight bus route 300 Bloor-Danforth so no worries about getting out of there. To make it easier and safer for everyone - please post here if you are planning on driving to the venue and willing to carpool. carpooling info+ Show Spoiler +ChiefSlapaho can drive anyone who lives around etobicoke area if its close-by. If not, just fork over a couple bucks cause gas aint cheap and he hasn't taken his high yield yet. Just PM There is a pay-parking lot behind the venue and lots of parking in a surrounding area. Just check maps before heading out.
Schedule:
+ Show Spoiler +The night will be kicked off by finishing the matches between 8 top players from the Toronto Quest For The Best tournament Matches will be streamed on a big screen and casted. At 2am we will tune in all the video equipment (and we will have more than just one screen) to GSL's HD stream to enjoy the battle between two, probably, best players in the world for the title of GSL Supertournament. We are expecting some surprises + Show Spoiler +like Tastosis giving us another shout-out and maybe something even bigger The owner of the Victory Cafe was kind enough to keep the doors open until the final match is finished so no worries - we will not miss any action!
About the venue:
+ Show Spoiler +Victory cafe is a Quality Pub & Eatery featuring the finest in Canadian flavours from local microbreweries. The kitchen there is simple but pretty awesome. The owner of the Victory Cafe was kind enough to promise that the kitchen will be open past it's normal hours. However, we have to obey the law, so there WILL be a last call at it's usual time.

Most street parking in Toronto is free after 9pm. Especially along Bloor. You won't find any if you get there much later than 9, though.

Every once in a while I see a Canadian GSL Finals thread pop up. And I look around a bit. If I'm not mistaken I remember when Chromate put in a lot of own money to make it work on the first occasion or occasions but got in a bit of a rough spot afterwards. While it was ok, it was hard to continue doing it. And then I think tons of people jumped in to cover. Obviously I have no clue what I'm talking about but I just want to say that I'm happy that it didn't end there and you guys could find a way to make it all work out.
It seems like a lot fun and I would almost say it seems to speak for your nationality? I don't know but I've always had a tendency to like Canada. Even though I know little aboot it.
So, as a total outsider I hope all of you guys and girls will have a great time and can keep the events going in the future.

bigger then molly blooms by a bit, fire code allows 200 people upstairs but I'd say it seats 100 comfortably.

Since they haven't changed the start time, I assume the LG3D tourney finals will be the "event" that they always have, in place of say... the interviews with the players mothers or coach v coach fights that they've had b4.

I kind of went the other way. Hes just been extremely dynamic in his playstyle as of late, trying to get reads on everything and building his army right to compensate for what he is seeing.

Id be inclined to agree.... but my trip home was hell... my bus dropped me off at warden and something ... then decided to take a cab (Which I never take), which was the most expensive thing of my life. Meter was going up every two seconds. Then I asked the guy, how much would it be from where I was to my house. Around 18 bucks. I said hell no, gave the guy 5 bucks and WALKED the rest of the way.
Im driving next time. Period. Unless I get a ride home.

I know this isn't a Starcraft pecific event. But GameNation will be holding an all Starcraft-Tournament in August, here is a link to their upcoming All-Gaming event July 9th.\

Whether you consider yourself a pro or a n00b, the party will be legendary and a small glimpse into the future of gaming nights. So dust off your controller and join us on July 9th at The Brunswick House for a gamer's paradise, but make sure you bring your competitive edge because we'll have a ton of prizes to give away!
WHAT: Gaming Pub Night / Tourny
The Following Games/Systems will be set up:

2v2 Tournament
Call of Duty Black ops, XBOX 360
4v4 Tournament - Domination Gamemode
Halo: Reach, XBOX 360
4v4 Tournament - MLG Ruleset
StarCraft II, PC
-A set of showmatches for spectating between two world famous pro’s to be announced.
-A “King of the Hill” set up where challengers may meet eachother for the whole bar to see on screens. Winner stays in seat. Challengers take him on. Prizes to those who hold the hill!

WHERE: Brunswick House. Bloor and Spadina (less then 1 block from Bloor/Spadina subway station).
WHEN: Saturday July 9th 2011.
6:30PM: Doors open to GameNation guest list (“Attend” this event to be added to the list!)
6:30PM-10PM: GameNation tourny takes place. Prizes, A wager system to bet on your fav teams (GameNation Dollars, not real ones unfortunately. Good for prizes though!) Also the GameNation girls will be there with their A-Game, and will be accepting challengers!
10:00PM: Doors open to public (And Brunswick House fills up fast!). Gamenation attendees are free to remain the entire night as we will have a private area granted to us until 2:00am. Party the night away!
WHY: Why not?
COST: The cost will be $10 at the door. This is to cover prizes, rental of the hall, and drink deals for the gamers throughout the night. NOTE: Every event attended by a member of GameNation will add to your “GameNation Loyalty” score. When a member reaches a high enough Loyalty Score (Leaderboards will be shown on GameNation.ca) Prizes will include free admission to further events, Free games, Free consoles, and much much more!
