We need a well-made, sleek and modern looking logo.

For the longest time, we've thrown around a lot of different looks and logos to find what "clicked" per say, but alas, have come up short. My time, shared between my wife and organizing a guild, comes short on the design department lately.
I want to ask the community (hopefully in the right forum) if we have any photoshop/gimp gurus that could create a logo for our guild image. This would help us tremendously, because as we are growing and representing ourselves/teamliquid in this MMO, we find ourselves "lacking" a professional logo that TL for example is so well-known for. Their logo carries a legacy that entire threads could be written about, and that's inspiring.
Things to keep in mind:
-Keep it scalable, as to allow easy transfer to a variety of mediums, such as website icons all the way up to possible t-shirts. Be careful of aliasing. Although we enjoy moderate high-def shiny lenses flares and the like, keep a version of the logo simple as well, so it may be edited and used to fit other purposes.
-Keep it modern, sleek, contemporary. We designed our entire setup around a more modern, techy feel. Putting a logo with old english graphical lettering simply wont fit the bill.
-If you are using other images from the web in your design, please ask the author/designer and provide us proof of permission. This is important and unfortunately eliminates half of the great suggestions we get.
-We originally aimed for a "dragon" type logo, as seen in our original two phases below. Perhaps a play on that logo, or a complete new redesign would work.
-Were aiming for a logo that can also be used as icons, badges, etc. Meaning it must fit in a square area. Please do not submit logos that are 5 times wider than they are tall.
-Save the time and dont ask "why not use the horse logo?". Numerous reasons aside from the basic fact its basically a trademark that is already being used. We want originality. Theres no denying we consist of 100% teamliquid posters, but that doesnt mean we need to be a clone either.

If you blow over this thread, that's fine. Were not sure what to expect as there aern't many threads like this on TL in regards to custom work. If you are designing one however, out of boredom or otherwise, then your a blessing. Thanks. You will receive full credit for the work, and have a special place among friends.

I know you said you wanted something more square, but I was just kinda fucking around. You can use it if you so desire, I just needed to do something to get off my ass and figured I'd "1-hour-challenge" it (what some designers do to limit their ability and test their mettle, to those unaware.) Probably went through a good 3-4 iterations before I decided on finishing this one.
edit: oops the background was supposed to match that of TLs site, but I think it was in CMYK. That, and I keep forgetting back the 591px limit width to do shit without resizing.

Thats not bad, but would be impossible to scale down to lets say, a low res armor in-game. Do you have a simplified version of it?

What's wrong with your paint one. I think it looks very nice, and I'm very picky about logos.

I like the last 2 designs both, but I think boqu's could use a bit of work on the dragon part. The curved lines you used on it's muzzle make it look not as aggressive and badass as ninjas.
I would do one myself but I'm not gonna bother cuz I think these (particularly ninja's) are great.

Hey Boqu!
I was wondering if it was possible to mess with different shape/line angles to make the eye look more aggressive and less sharp? Possibly mess with rounded corners to see how that works?
Also for the "T" portion of the image, is there a very simple way to make it look like the wings of the dragon?
The Bottom of the L can get away with being the tail, but any creative ideas to keep the logo simple and clean like it is now is the main focus. At least it is for me when looking at the logo personally.

Hey, I feel like the dragon head blends in with the L and makes it look like a C, how about if you remove this line:

to make the T stand out more, or maybe take the whole dragon head, and move it to the left side of the top of the T, and make the L taller than the T so its not akwardly shorter.
