Hello everyone, obviously this is my first time here (as a member), and I was inspired to join by the SC&SC2 commentator duo, HD and Husky. I chose to join after watching the HDH Invitational and skimming through the website here. I currently don't have any SC game or play any nowadays, but I used to play SC:BW and absolutely loved it! I can't wait to see the game develop soon with SC2! Fair warning though, I am not really an active person (at least in the net) and may not post so much, but I will at least try to visit often and post a few helpful opinions of my own. Once again, thank you for letting me in! Can't wait to see if I can get SC2... | ||

Also, don't use IDs containing weird characters, symbols, smiley faces, geometric shapes or any combination of the same. The last thing we need here are fan club members of the Artist Formerly Known as Prince moving in and setting up shop. Finally, crude and offensive usernames will be banned. Do you really want to be known as LayZeeDick anyway? And that won my complete respect to the TL community as that made me laugh a lot. | ||

We are not obligated to observe anyone's notions of "free speech" or even "fairness. I agree. People often confuse the First Amendment (Freedom of Speech) vs "free speech". Banning trolls and spammers is respecting private property of the website owner. If I own a website, I have the right to choose what content to appear on my website. Nobody has the right to force me to host articles (or posts) I dislike. Banning a troll is not a violation of his right of free speech; the troll still has the freedom to create his own website and post whatever he wishes. If TeamLiquid dislikes my postings, they have the right to ban me permanently from their website at their sole discretion. Of course, banning people for no apparent reasons is not the best business model to retain members. Likewise, screaming out "Fire!" in a crowded theater is a violation of property – the property of the theater owner. The same would be if I would cause disturbance in any other place, such as a recording studio, a shopping mall or a restaurant. The only person who may scream out “Fire” is the owner of the theater, however if there are customers watching a movie, then he violated his implicit contract of respecting silence while the movie is playing. I don't think he appreciated Day[9]'s "Bear Semen" energy drink either. When he heard it he mauled the speakers. ANYWAYS, I am glad to finally get a chance to interact with the members of this venerable community. It is, after all, one of the best.  | ||
