bad idea

Besides, I can use this chance to actually do a trial reporting if I can bring my crew along with this since this will help sharpen up my reporting skills.
But I was suggesting about forming a TL press or news crew over this or something similar and actually do something as well to prove ourselves for TL. I mean obviously you won't go in for free to not contribute. But it seems the idea is too good to be true..

You're more than welcome to apply for one of their press passes under your school or another organization, but please do not do so under TL.
Thanks!

Didn't know TL staff will be going as "TL Press"! Hopefully I get to meet them then! Sweet!
Don't worry, now that I do know TL is doing their own stuff, I'm not stupid enough to do that to use the name TL in vain outside of TL.
A question do rise up though, under the "professional pass" registration, what do you think an "educator" means? Like a professor, faculty or etc? Otherwise I could easily come across as an educator if I'm going to take pictures and blog about it or use for my radio or TV programs, no? I can say it's for education purposes and have one of my episodes of my "video games radio show" to mention and talk about the actual experience. Do you think I could get off as an "educator" (since I don't think any other "profession" fit me here) or my chances are better with "press", or is registering both possible.... hmm...

Anyone got any info on schedule for the games?
|
To acquire a press pass for an event as big and regular as NY Comic Con usually takes either some really good connections or legitimate proof of past experience, letter from your supervisor, etc. I know that was the case for an event like E3 and SDCC. Not sure if "president of tv club/news club for my school" will always qualify, but i guess its worth a try, worst that'll happen is they say no, and you can buy a regular pass.

I registered for it and now waiting for response. I tried to put it as professional and legit as possible. If they ask me for proof of past experience or credentials, I can obtain that easily as my status as WABC-TV news intern or even bringing out some of my sample news reporting I made. So I don't have any worries about this if they think I'm a liar or something.
If they do say no though, I'll probably go for a professional pass in some way because I simply hate paying for full price (I think it's expensive for someone who's just there to look around) and like being in special attention than regular commoners. Otherwise, I just don't have to go, even though this will be my first time ever going to any form of convention...
I'll keep you all updated on what happens to me, whether I get a press pass or not! :D
|
I have had a professionals pass, unless you're REALLY gonna blow a lot of money on nice things, or have solid enough connections to have IEM let you poke at them early, it's not gonna do much for you. Heck, I'll likely have a professionals pass if my arm heals up enough by then. which I kinda doubt, sadly.

Anyone know when the Starcraft 2 finals will be held? I can only attend Friday or Sunday and don't want to make the trip if i'll miss the SC2 games!

I believe finals will be held on Sunday, but I'm not 100% sure. We'll see schedule posted in a few days on IEM website.

I plan on checking this out. Seems like fun.
Not sure on when, just depends on the schedule of games.
|
I'm going, already got my pass in the mail, its a weekend pass
