Nobody was saying orb would lose the game lol.
My suggestion is, and obviously we can't implement this now, but if a disconnect happens when the advantage is that big, I say that the series gets extended to a BO5, and the disconnect goes to orb, that way he gets the advantage he deserves, but its not an automatic win.
This way, game 4 is played, again on Lost Temple, if orb wins Game 4, its 3-1 Orb wins (much like if orb won a regame it'd be 2-1 in a BO3). If Isai wins Game 4, then it would be 2-2 and orb gets the map pick for game 5, once again getting an advantage that he deserves.
Thats my suggestion, I thought its reasonable, it won't be implemented this time but oh well.

This would have been bad but still more reasonable than "hey let's give your opponent a huge advantage and make you do a bo1 against that huge advantage"
For fucks sake the "re" had to be done on the same map too so it wasn't even like the 4th game of a bo5. Even if we were to redo it as a bo5 he wouldn't get to play LT again for the 4th game... the most terran favored map in the entire fucking mappool

I agree with the fact that a pure regame favors him 100000000% The options sucked, I came up with that idea after they already decided which is too bad. If anything that would have allowed you to pick a Protoss map, delta or BS and just take the advantage you deserved. Nothing I can do anymore though.

Whatever, in my view this entire tournament is 100% illegitimate at this point
Bad player that got solidly 2-1'd advanced anyways and it's completely changing the results of the tournament.
Grats luckyfool on hosting a useless tournament with illegitimate results

I also had two disconnects in my group matches. Bnet is acting horrid today.

I only have access to the brackets and not the original post, but I'm updating the brackets constantly

I looked through the post, but I couldn't find the brackets >< Sorry if it's somewhere obvious. Mind linking? Go Isai!

Come on, Really? Was it a perfect tournament? No.
Was it a perfect solution to what happened? No.
90% of the people at the LAN saw the rep over your shoulder, or his shoulder, and they all agreed on a re-game being the best solution. I understand being upset over it but to call out the whole LAN, and calling out Rob, it's just ridiculous.
You were ahead, yes. Again, a good majority of the people there agreed that the game wouldn't have been over at that exact moment. Thus, a regame. If he was in the middle of getting owned because he attacked your nat, it would have been reasonable to say you had the lead and give you the win. If he was in the process of killing your nat and moving into your main after your army went down, it would be reasonable to give him the win.
You think it was easy to give the regame? Do you really think I wanted to have to do that to either of you? Come on, dude. We've known each other for a good while and I wouldn't do something like that just because I wanted to fuck you over. Shit, I didn't know Isai until tonight. If I was really in the mood to rig the tournament, I'd have advanced you because you're a regular with us. I apologized to you like 50 times when I said I was going to have to give a regame. I didn't just walk up to you and be like "Fuck it, regame". I really didn't want to have to call a regame on Gretorp, either...at least he understood that, I am pretty sure.
I said, "I hate doing it but the majority is calling for a regame. Sorry, but I can't just advance you since it wasn't clear who would have won." Or something along those lines.
I guess you were too busy calling me a fucking moron or whatever to notice that I really didn't want to do it.
Thanks.

ggs all, it was a fun LAN. You ran the tourney very well imo, I'm glad you guys allowed the re-games instead of giving autowins to people with "celebrity/reputation." It was run very fair imo. If anything all the anger should be directed towards blizz/bnet .5 imo this no LAN stuff is total bullshit.
For my games vs gretorp, the second game he was at a slight advantage, but not so much that I would have been happy with a freewin given against myself in that position. It was really winnable for either of us at that point. And anything can happen at a LAN.
Gretorp played better than me so he won in the end, but thanks for not just giving a free-win due to reputation. I do not know about Isai's game vs orb, so I cannot really say much about that.
