Please remember that while this thread is for QQ and venting about the game, racism is not tolerated here on LD. |

You can't say anything in the mic in english that people already start flaming on me, even when I'm only speaking english. This racist is so annoooyyyiiing. I would say it's stereotyping but not quite rascist. o.0 Well negatively stereotyping a marginalised ethnic group based on that ethnicity is by definition racism so... Look at it this way, the majority of hispanic people playing dota 2 are not good, so thinking someone to be bad because they are hispanic is a logical, albeit not correct all the time, progression from this, similar to thinking someone will be bad for not having a lot of wins. It's not truly racism. so is the majority of every ethnicity ever. whats ur point?

If only people want to communicate with each other, I would be glad to check all the modes available It's just not there. That last game I had, long story-short, Gyro was the last pick (went random). Nobody was a "support", right?
Me: Gyro get a courier Gyro: Carry buy courier? f*** you Me: We told you to pick a support. You are the last pick. It's not our fault. *Gyro buys courier* Gyro: I bought courier. You?
Seriously, this particular server that I queued to has the worst portion of retard people.

I am beginning to get sick of matchmaking.
I miss the days in dota 1 playing USW pubs, I could look forward to vsing a dual lane of SF(with prescence of the dark lord first of course) and a DS who keeps vacuuming and comes into lane with a bracer and builds vanguard first item. Yes there's no challenge in stomping noobs but it's f**king soothing, let me tell you.
Now? you can expect to be bothered playing with/against some egotistical maniac who has severe delusions of grandeur because he first picked QoP and keeps offensively rank 1 blinking into towers to chase kills and is now yelling at you, or something along those lines.
The above paragraph is more or less why I don't solo queue in Aus anymore, I will gladly take a calmer/more relaxing game at 160 ping than a gutwrenching, facedesking 45 minute struggle with oxygen thieves at 33 ping. Don't get me wrong, trying hard to win is often a necessity, I do it myself, but surely at some point valve needs to draw the line and implement a 'Hey, calm down' button. Just because you are 0-3 does not mean I'm a "f**king retard support who needs to do his job" because the rune ward expired 18 seconds ago and you died due to a lack of map awareness.
Having said that, the ability to communicate is important in Dota and being Australian it can be often painful playing the alternative (SEA) and trying to decipher spam pings and " waka lao mog pak da " Also, YES.. there are terrible players in SEA too, but often times you tell them what they are doing wrong "You need to ravage earlier" or "Don't build that item" and they are realistic enough to say " ok sry "
TL;DR/Summary - I love challenging pubs, but I want to be able to have music blaring in my ear and just have perfect teamwork, coordination, decision making. With as little communication as possible in a RELAXED environment.
Is that too much to ask Volvo?

This has honestly been the worst week of Dota 2 since last November when I went on a 12 loss streak. Of the 10 games I've lost the past week, 9 were stomps, only 1 was closely contested. The 2 games I won are also stomps by us. Ever since dota 2 went public i've been having shit games wtf valve

there's probably been a lot of elo inflation with the massive influx of new players, give the game a few weeks for the elos to settle again and it'll be back to normal
|
that moment that you call a player a retard, but later realize that all his calls were legit and he ended up being the best player on the team
shouldn't be so quick to judge people

SD, I'm in the mood of supporting, I pick nyx, we have weaver top. The other 3 guys pick shadowblade as first item. Most valuable gem ever.

Uh, the majority of ANY ethnic group is bad at Dota so you don't have a point.

It has nothing to do with how good they are. Dota is a team game. If you can't communicate with your team it ruins the game for others. This is why people are sick of South Americans with no ability to speak English queuing on US East. It's not because they're from Brazil or w/e. It's because you have no hope at all of communicating with them. Sweden is considered a really strong e-sports country, yet I'd be just as annoyed at a guy from Sweden queuing on US east if he could only speak Swedish.
The other issue is that people in South America generally have really high latency on the US East server. Playing with someone who either d/cs or demands a pause 4 times a game is also annoying.

The fucking server located in South America

OK, Valve servers aren't strong enough yet, dc'ed out of the victory screen of a compendium match, with the error that the lobby is still up even though the game is over. So no item for me. I also can't access my profile, because the load fails every time.
