Seriously most ridiculous shit I've heard in a while. If your time is that precious to you then go do something productive with your time rather than wasting the time of 9 other people.

THere's a million legitimate reasons to unpause the game. I already know your counter argument is "if you only have 45 minutes then why chance it." Why should I not be allowed to play a game because someone elses internet might suck? That's not my issue. I give them 60 seconds then unpause. THe game gives them 5 minutes. If they don't come back in those 5 minutes then pausing would've been a waste of time anyways. If they do then cool we can finish the game, not like they missed out on much anyways. It sucks when people disconnect but that's the nature of internet. These are pubs, not professional games you can easily win 4v5.

Happens once every 100 game for me. Yet theres usually 4-5 disconnects during every single game.

what in the hell does void need the courier for, you can buy slippers of agility in the side shop. i feel you pain, so many times ive had my noob friends jack the courier for their wands recipes... lost a game once because noob friend jacked the courier with a full ac before a decisive team fight at rosh so he can have his bracer recipe delivered.

Game 20 minutes ago. I was the 0-8 pugna. Disregarding my own score cuz I could have ks'd a few times, did everything I could to support with wards, mek, smoke, etc. Our pudge was dominating all game, but we couldn't push into enemy base because we had no heroes that could dominate a team fight, while they had a "CARRY Omni" that constantly still supported them. My qq is on our Naix and Broodmother. While Naix had decent items by the end, he was literally not dominant during team fights. Broodmother once we reach enemy base, constantly suicides into base without communicating we're going in.
Biggest qq moment 3/4 of the game in, Broodmother has a gem, Luna and Omni push into our bot tier 1 tower. I was nearby, and then broodmother jumps into them to try to kill Luna while Omni is around. I wasn't close enough, but even then I knew it was a stupid fight because whatever I do Omni will just heal whoever, and our dps compared to theirs wouldn't even be close. Gem is lost, then the game really goes into enemy's favour. Broodmother blames me for not fighting in that fight, cuz he thinks life drain woulda owned them. Broodmother dies few more times, then sells items and masses couriers
Frustrating game I know we had won, if our carries actually carried *sigh. Not a fan of instant reporting, but had to do it against that broodmother

You ruin the game for 9 other people still. Congrats. I believe my comment still holds true. How it usually is for me, is I have about an hour and a half that I want to play DOTA for. That means I should be able to reasonably fit two games in. However, in the first game when one person DCs (which I've noticed happens in about half of the games), I use to let the pause for 5 minutes, then ask if we can resume (which means by spamming pause I actually wait for ~9 minutes!). Then, even after waiting for 9 minutes, the guy will sometimes return 5 minutes later. The amount of flaming from not waiting for 15 minutes (which I can't do anything else, because I have to be aware of the unpause) has actually turned me completely off of DOTA2 and I've since stopped playing, entirely because of these pause issues.
If someone DCs, if you spam pause, that person still has about 4 minutes to get back into the game. If you can't get back in the game in 4 minutes, why should anyone have to wait longer. Think of it this way, that one person is wasting a total of 9*4 = 36 minutes of time. Are they really that entitled that they can't figure out what is going on in 4 minutes when 9 people are waiting on them?
What's more frustrating, is I play a lot of 4v4s in SC2. There is so rarely a DC in games that are average 30 minutes or so. Why are the DCs in DOTA2 so frequent? In DOTA2, I rarely ever have to DC. Sometimes the game does get a little glitchy, so I want to restart the game. That never takes more than 2 minutes, and I'm running the game on a laptop, so it is definitely not a fast computer, yet I can do it just fine. However, for some reason everyone else needs 10 minutes to reconnect. Seriously, go to the bathroom on your own time and don't DC so you can go take a dump while everyone thinks you are figuring out your internet issues.

In the last 200 games of DOTA2 I have played, I have been DC'd from six games even though my internet is still working (I don't drop from Skype, par exemple) and am unable to reconnect, even after restarting my computer/release renewing IP. DOTA has some connectivity issues (it is still in beta!) and I think it is pretty reasonable to try and give the benefit of the doubt to people who DC.

You're given a free 5 minutes to reconnect. Sure you might miss some farm or kills but again these are pub games and that is easy to overcome. Why can't people just be glad there is an ability to reconnect? When you play CS or SC you can't reconnect. I hit queue because I wan't to play the game, not sit in a paused screen for 10 minutes at a time. I don't flame anyone or blame anyone that unpauses the game. Technical difficulties happen, be glad it's not an instant loss.

Holy fuck.
Just had a fucking venomancer on my team who went for the carry veno build. As the only other support (lina), that shit sucked. Bought the courier and all the wards all game. Still managed to get my blink and drums, tho, as I went on a godlike tear.
Game lasted for 65 minutes tho because he fucking refused to push (gotta get my six slots!) and our ck also had downs.
Checked his profile, he was from Russia. Good times.

I really gotta commend the mute system. So you can afk grief, feed couriers, ruin games, etc, and the punishment is......
Muted!
So somebody has decided to ruin games, the idea is now that the rest of the community has to be punished by dealing with a muted player.
And you got 160 hours, with no reason given.
What happened to having a spine, and having fun in online games.
Might be playing dotacash games soon.

Pubs generally run even into the most stupid engagements, just experienced it again in my last game. Two people trying to stop a 5 man-push, needless to say they died like idiots. They don't watch the minimap to see that others are away, slightly out of position (which is fatal), or are about to head to an other direction. When they see a lone enemy coming out of the fog of war, they go in "jump him !!!! kill !!!!" mode and don't think about that its likely that other enemies are nearby. And of course, rule no. 1: Whatever happens, its never their fault. Pubs will be pubs.
