In pubs most people are retarded, so when you have a hero like Tide who can blink in, initiate a battle, and then soak up all the incoming punishment (leaving the carry to lay waste to the opposition), it's essentially a tank. Anyway my little bit of rage. I'm so tired of playing with English language set and being in a game with 4 people who don't speak English. I tend to lose games like that because there is absolutely no communication. I just love hearing some asshole screaming his native language (that isn't mine) then randomly hear my hero's name jumbled in with it. I only play on USWest, so there is just no excuse. | ||

 Someone plays support on the team. Feeds 1/17. Then blames the team, because support needs someone to protect them(also keeps crying troll is OP), can't fight alone...Urm...I notice this a lot. People expect others to follow them around, instead of the other way around . Also blaming the other team for playing noob heroes of course, because he played support and was a real player because of it. Also played with a pudge that did not land a single hook the same 40min game, was kinda hilarious :D. | ||

Highlighted the important thing for you. Its nothing to do with "tankiness" and everything to do with initiation. Skeleton King can get tanky as hell and can resurrect himself. Doesn't make him a particularly good initiator. Tide is good, but he's good because of blink ravage; the durability is more of a bonus than his raison d'etre. So when you've got a team consisting of (for example) Dark Seer, Enigma and Void its annoying as hell when you get people yelling "OMG NO TANK WE LOSE GG". | ||

I wanna rage so many times looking at all the SNYs being bought in game like it's 2008. rofl ya i remember there was some sny era that everyone freaking get a sny lol And ya i feel you too and i am 100% sure about mm would be haywired when you queue with noobish friend, games are always one sided either way (whenever the skill level in your stack is not consistent, which is reasonable i guess) but the recent patches have made it worse, games are no longer 50/50, is like they add in alot more mmr when you queue with stack and expect your stack to play better. However when I queue with one friend at similar skill level the game would be pretty fair (skill wise). And some real life friends are just hopeless to dota tbh. I love them to death but when it comes to dota i just wanna avoid them Q_Q I feel so bad. | ||

I think it comes from lol where there are actually some tanks who can taunt & their role is also to catch some skillshots in the face until one can really initiate. But I agree it looks bad when you read this at the start of the game. | ||

So, basically, I gamed instead of learning today. 6 or 7 games in a row. all of them terrible but one or two. They went like this (Note that I always random first): First one: I randomed first, got troll. Team picked carries only. We got smashed. Second one: I randomed first, got chaos knight. Team picked carries only. We got smashed. Third one: I announced I'd jungle Prophet. My pick was followed by Naix who straight ran into our jungle. Else, we had only carries. We got smashed. Fourth one: I randomed Witchdoc, supported, we won. Fifth one: Randomed TA. Went mid, enemy team mid was Zeus AND pudge. They lost hard. Sixth: Played some support. Picks were okayish, but two of the teammates demanded mid, went there, got eaten. We lost. DOTA COMMUNITY, WHERE IS YOUR BRAINS? | ||
