Please remember that while this thread is for QQ and venting about the game, racism is not tolerated here on LD. |
Drow is just lawl teamfight near rosh pit.we come out ahead by losing only 1 guy and get 3 of them..suddenly drow with lothars..silence main 2 stuneers..4 shot both of them then proceed to kill the third guy and manage to lothar away
Haven't won a single game against a competent drow who knows to prioritise targets no matter how bad his team his. Time to play cm only now..I've had enough of seeing drow in 90% of my games

It's so weird, sometimes the team connect well, map is well warded, people buy TPs & def towers/punish dives, push for ennemy towers, buy right items. Sometimes it's the complete opposite with huge flame war. The thing which is really weird is that some guys have amazing teamfight abilities but have 0 clue to how to lane, check minimap and they build suboptimal items.
PS : I see less & less drows on eu maybe I'm lucky or people seem to get tired of her.
|
WR on my team that had the off-lane solo that refused to buy a tp and support/counter-gank when the opposing team would dive the T1 tower in the safe lane when she was level 7+ (missing out on free kills)... Reason given: "I just wanna free farm here and get mek faster".

I am quite new to DOTA, been playing for 2 weeks. However i managed to understand the basics of the game and i know that it is all about teamfight. It drives me mad when we have a perfect position to start fight, the initiator jumps in and disable/stun 1-2 players while the rest of team manage to succesfully run away and let him die with no effect. Then at the end of game, they call him noob, cause he has negative score. Some people just have no idea.
Other time i am invisible standing next to enemy drow, i ticked him 5 times so people really see it and come gank. However nobody even tries to come. I was sure we could get drow easily and escape before they come gank us.

While it is a bit ridiculous how strong Drow gets with minimal farm, she is far from unbeatable.

Ahah i played a game on my second account of single draft where my team consisted of Sven (first pick), PA (me, second pick), weaver void and AM against shadow shaman/ck/dk/silencer/gyro. Somehow we won this game

If I believed all those QQs she's the perfect hero - carries with no farm, infinity damage, health and armor, impossible to chase, impossible to run away from, wins every lane (even though she doesn't need to), pushes like Leshrac+Lycan+Sylla and there's nothing that can be done to deal with her. Perhaps a little hyperbolic yes, but she IS absurdly strong. I put a story up a week ago of a game I played as Drow. Mid vs batrider. I got shut down all early game through constant ganks on my lane with no help. We lost all the outer towers and I think one or two rax. Something like 30 minutes in I had Amulet, not even Lothars, and was about 0-9. Then I got my Shadow Blade...and I farmed a little more...and I got my manta.45 mins in I'm hitting for 300+ damage per hit at almost two attacks per second. Blasted the whole enemy team down, smashed down towers, backdooring some of them, took their rax, nailed the final towers and killed the fountain. Thing is with Drow it doesn't matter how far you are behind you've always got the potential to catch up with just a couple of items because Marksmanship ultimate plus Precision Aura really are that good. You have to literally suppress her all game. Oh and you can't run. Slowing arrow attacks plus AoE silence. Whilst I'd agree the hysteria is probably a little overboard I can't disagree on the sentiment that she is ridiculously hard to deal with. I bolded the important parts. If the enemy team really did take out every outer tower as well as two lanes of rax, there is no fucking way you should be able to machine-gun them down at 45 minutes with only Shadowblade and Manta Style. Obviously they were focusing everyone on your team but you and let you pew pew away. Do you realize how quickly you would have gone down if they had just focused you like competent players? I could see Drow actually being overpowered as part of some really well-executed 4 protect 1 strategy where she is essentially immune to ganks and gets great farm. But the chance of this happening in a pub AP game is slim to none, and Ice Frog still has her banned in Captain's Mode for a reason. So in the meantime, just go fucking kill her before she gets Shadowblade, get dust and go fucking kill her after she gets Shadowblade, and fucking kill her first in teamfights. The hero needs some tweaking, otherwise she'd be in CM already, but to act like she breaks the game wide open is just silly. Was originally going to give you a reasonable response with a proper replay overview now that I'm home and have access to it. Had it all written out in fact. But on second thoughts since you're being such a dick about it I'm not going to bother because it'd be a huge waste of my time. Your mind is set. Think whatever the hell you want to. General sentiment is she is hard to deal with because she snowballs insanely. And I never acted like "she breaks the game wide open" thanks, so stop being an arse to me. Back on topic: swear to god...Lich and Venge in my team. Venge comes with me, Lich goes with Timber. Neither buy support items. Lich repeatedly insists "we got this, guys" and tries to build as a carry. Venge is loving laning with me because I'm constantly being attacked by the enemy Warlock so he can happily take all of the creeps whilst I can't even get near them as Riki. Opposing team Meepo and Drow just crush face, three of them queued together. Give me strength... -_- Erm, what gave you the idea I'm trying to be a dick to you? Is it the swearing? Because that was essentially one long reference to Day[9]'s "go fucking kill him." The point of my post was to emphasize what you said about the other team shutting you down, then letting you farm a couple items, then for some reason not focusing down the super squishy, underfarmed carry in a teamfight. Obviously the replay and/or your analysis of it, if you had posted any of it, could have answered some or all of my questions, but this sounds like bad execution by the opposing team, not any inherent balance issue with Drow. The "break the game wide open" comment was directed at your last line. If you didn't notice, I was agreeing with you and talking about the rest of the QQ posts in this thread that act like the game is unplayable with Drow in her current state. She's a strong hero, no doubt, but all it takes is a little coordination to shut her down and she suffers like any other right-click carry. And that's even before she gets tuned, which will inevitably happen in order to get her into CM. Anyway, sorry for getting off-topic, as people do come here to vent their frustrations. Perhaps this is a better discussion for the general thread or the strategy section.
Sorry, evidently I took that as way more confrontational than you intended. I apologise.
In my defence my record last night at the point I posted that was a loss on BH thanks to a feeding Silencer and a newbie Tiny. A loss on Enigma thanks to a Dark Seer who let Sven freefarm. And a loss on Riki because of the aforementioned Venge and Lich. So I wasn't exactly in the mindset of reading things favourably. >_>
On topic: No idea wtf happened to my internet last night. About five minutes into a game I'm suddenly getting latency of around two full seconds. Utterly unplayable, I click a command and then sit and wait for it to respond. Opposing team Sven even quit but somehow the rest of my team couldn't close it out 4v4.5 against their lineup which was basically 5 carries (I was Silencer, so I could at least drop curse and ult thanks to huge AoE and global effect respectively, hence the .5). If they'd just pushed middle early like I kept saying we'd have been fine, but no they'd prefer to let Drow build her Shadow Blade and CK to get his armlet.
Then apparently I'm feeding according to our Centaur who never ulted; despite the fact everyone on the team had around the same number of deaths. -_-

2 games in a row with my teams Dusa afk farming for 30 mins straight, coming out with a linkens + boots, and doing absolutely shit all. Just an annoyingly passive hero.. Like she's literally useless until she can get up linkens + manta. Far worse than spectre in my opinion.
Personally I like Spectre. >_>
But then again I tend to get early diffusal on Spectre because in the average pub game I'm in it annoys the hell out of my opponents and with quelling I get decent enough farm anyway. So I'm active a lot earlier than radiance first.
Dusa on the other hand I've not seen played well by anyone. Spec can at least harrass with her ult and contribute in teamfights whilst farming. Dusa can't really do much of anything until 40 minutes or so and needs to just safely stay out of the way.

Drow isn't overpowered, it's just that 99% of pubs are too unorganized to figure out that they have to continually gank her.
Literally continually. If you ever let her get some kind of decent farm then you're just going to start taking a lot of deaths.

In fairness I had a team fail to sentry before roshing when I was RIKI last night.
Of course I jacked the aegis. They weren't very happy. Still lost the game, but it was pretty funny.

Drow still has extremely high win rate. But I think it is mostly in pubs because people do not know how to handle the orb walk harass.

For future reference, what is the best way to deal with orb walk harass?

Nah. Its because people in pubs are generally very bad at farming, but drow is one of the few who can dish out a ton of damage without really having any items. And the effect rises proportionally if the player actually know how to lasthit as well.

Drow is silly I went 0-4 in 5 minutes (jugga and maiden strong combo) got lothars at 30 minutes and ended up full 6 item aegis and backdooring all 6 raxes while 2 def against their 5 man push into our base
Silly hero either get dust or lose in 15 when she gets lothars
Only QQ part is the Clinkz who thought I should be back defending and kept telling Me to fuck off never mind the fact I singlehandedly won the game

Tinker + Kotl = Dota 2 Spartans.

Kotl and Naga
Every second counts with her ult

Picks Medusa, demands bot, with ES vs BH. No farm. Bad item choices: Phase Boots+2xWraith Bands. Bad skill points: 2x Split Shot, 4xMystic Snake and ulti.
Pub carries 2013

Currently on a 9-game losing streak - 1 time I just played like crap, nothing to whine about, 1 game we had 2 guys going 0-13 and 1-12. I was going like "Ok, got 2 feeders this time, just bad luck..." BUT THEN in the last 7 of these 9 times (played in the last 3 days) our team was left 4v5 or 3v5 after 10-15 minutes by idiots who ragequit either after their first death or after feeding like hell... One game we could have won, even 3v5, but we just had a bad engagement once and it all went to shit. After a couple of these games, some mannered opponents actually apologized to me for winning like this, saying they felt sorry about it....it's just sad.
Now seriously, what the fuck, Valve?! Harsher punitive measures need to be taken against leavers - such shit never happened to me in years of playing Dota 1 on Garena, for example.
I understand that some people have poor connections and may disc unintentionally - but I really miss having rooms with harsh rules enforced against leavers or rooms with a minimum level requirement (for people who actually WANT to play well balanced games).

I've had a 13-game losing streak. Just find people to stack with if you're getting shafted by solo queue.
