We prefer CM for 5 stack and SD for less, ofc instapick when available in SD. In one of my games, someone randomed drow it is like we never played against her. I don't want to uninstall Dota (

I actually find the best way to play and win is to only ever pick utility heroes; ones that can both support and scale decently enough that you can actually do something lategame if the rest of your team is useless. Love Silencer for that. And Venge. Rubick as well. Picked Silencer the other day intending to support and ended up solo mid after buying wards vs a QoP. She fed me something like four kills, me getting all the runes, and I went 12-2-6 and our Undying went 8-0-8. Knocking their throne out in under 25 mins.
Of course sometimes I'll go crazy and pick Crystal Maiden to hardcore support. But that literally never turns out well.

What if the second carry pick was Drow? ;P
As for QQ: I'm getting increasingly terrified to play games. I've won 7 out of my last 10 and have just about crept back above 50% after my huge drop from 53-54% to around 46%. I'm expecting a huge loss strike to jump out of nowhere and strike me down. >_>

From experience, best way to win in a pub is to pick a ganker and hope you're able do enough damage to your opponents to let the rubbish carry get in the game. If all else fails, big aoe heroes like tide, magnus, enigma and sandking. Its hopelessly hilarious watching how even good players bunch up like small children running after the ball in pubs :D
|
Yeah sand king can really be a gamechanger, if you play him well and just ult all the time and don't fall behind you will be able to kill a lot of people early+midgame. He can be played mid as well against melee heroes with his passive, and since invisible = invincible you can just blink and stun and W around and nobody will catch you ))))

It works but its not really my style I guess. Some of my best winrates are on heroes like Silencer and Rubick that I can build into semi-carries where needed. Plus Naga Siren for some strange reason, tend to do well with her.

Yup.
Was doing average in pubs, started playing nyx, currently 27-4 with him. A "ganking support" is without a doubt the best role in lower level solo queue pubs.

From my experience...
If your good at Qop/Storm... You got it . Sadly i'm not so if i personally want to win i take Death Prophet or Tiny (Arc/Dagger).
Basically heroes that have early presence and snowball potential. Especially Death Prophet seems to be SOOO underrated... And don't know how many times the enemy mid tought "time to kill that bitch" just to give away firstblood... Which then allows for a quick Bloodstone on DP which makes you pretty ridiculous to kill (I normally go: Arc --> Bloodstone --> Phaseboots --> Mek).

Storm isn't THAT good at winning pubs with imo, because he's relatively weak in lane, he snowballs EXTREMELY hard if you do get a good start though, I'm not sure I've ever lost a game where I could get a 15 min bloodstone.
Qop is amazing though, very strong (I'd argue one of the best) in lane, and remains strong throughout the entire game if you build her correctly (hex as first item, then straight into hard carry stuff like mkb, crit, etc., with a bkb thrown in when you need it).
SF is also good, and my personal go-to hero (think I have just above 200 games played), his laning phase can start off a little weak but that quickly changes once you start building up souls and start to get levels, he has a huge influence on the midgame and can go toe to toe vs a lot of hard carries even in the lategame because of how much farm he tends to get.
Also templar assassin is really good for winning games with too because she's overpowered.
|
From my point of view Qop is not that good. Extremely good laning and ganking is the key point but generally she lose power late game because her skills don't scale and not that good attack speed. You should have a good early/mid game to be effective in late game. Excluding very late game against hard carries.

Storm is actually a decent laner - but its situational who he is good at laning against. Some mid heroes will outright beat him mid - others will outright get stomped by him mid (most mid heroes are like this, barring QOP, BR, and TA (will, ta can even lose against some heroes).
Mainly TA and Bat's popularity is keeping Storm from being popular, IMO.

Me and 2 others random. Enemy team insta picks Drow and Centaur.
Jesus... picking some heroes should be reportable for cheating.
|
4 russians on my team.
Bloodseeker uses rupture only to get last hit on kills. Does not use silence despite their lich and disrupter destroying our team. And gets S&Y after boots.
Lifestealer switches to mid with me at level 4 for some reason. And of course I don't why cuz they all speak russian. And constantly.
I ping in from mid that im going to kill the guy top, give them about 5-10 seconds, at which time they are on the creep wave, so basically right there. I walk in axes and attack with my pig, and no response. I stun and hit a few more times, still no response. As I finally kill the guy they show up just in time to get that last right click. -_-
Vengeful spirit who was going support, got deso. And.... so did lifestealer. It was the most frustrating game I have played in forever.

Jesus... picking some heroes should be reportable for cheating. I report pretty much any Drow picker immediately, especially the ones who call mid, the hero ruins games and is absolutely no fun to play against, with or as. I don't care if people can justify picking Drow ("She's in the game, why not pick her, blah blah"). The simple fact is, 90% of games with Drow in them will be a ridiculously boring stomp, no matter how bad the Drow player is. I also report Drow pickers exclusively and I've gotten loads of the "Thank you, somebody you've reported got banned" messages, so it must work, hehe. Also don't bother telling me I'm an asshole abusing the report system, that I'm a bad player who needs to learn how to deal with Drow etc etc. I know what I'm doing and I know why I'm doing it as well.

My team was beyond bad, but somehow I managed to go 7-1, and doing crazy tower dives as if I was nighstalker ^^. Despite that my team was failing hard, but refresher orb saved the day (double ravage+ lich ulti is quite good when the other team doesn't bother getting pipe or mek).
On the topic of understimated pub-stompers, I feel like spirit breaker is really up there. He is a really good ganker, and will be able to shut down heavy carry teams very effectively. He is also very good against squishy heroes that rely on invi or shadowblade user, as you can initiate your charge and it will keep track of them even if they go invisible (your team can see them too but cannot hit). So basically all you need is bring some dust, and you can own your target. I've been really sucessful doing that against drow, especially if she goes shadowblade, and generally you will snowball really hard with spirit breaker. Not to mention he is quite fun to play and the movement speed aura is quite ridiculus.
