Not calling ss is dumb anyway, it's to help people in your team ffs, not to help random people competing with you on a ladder.
They're bad and not aware, ok. One more reason to help them and call fucking ss and help your own team win.
An easier way to report ss is to bind the "Missing Bottom", "Missing Mid" and "Missing Top" automatic chats to certain keys. Mine is V for bot, b for mid and n for top. It's just so much easier to do this and helps allies better too.
Though you might have the best map awareness, your teammates might not. Just simply telling them ss helps them a lot indirectly and can avoid deaths so I don't know why you wouldn't report missing.

I did raged to not get ss and caught. But I've quit that bad habit long time ago, since I figured out that the most responsible player on the map to be ganked and I can counter by getting wards and be aware of that map. It comes with playing too much offlane and blindly buy wards.
But I simply give ss as much as I can and also I expect them to react to this. I am casual high queuer but still there are so many players who couldn't understand how to be aware of map and what my ss actually means.
Dota is a teamwork game, the more you take responsibilities and initiatives the more chance you can win the game and enjoy. Just give that damn ss man, not that hard.

Honestly, I had a string of games the other night where MM insisted on matching me with the same two allies 3 games in a row (I even took a break after game 2 to chill + bathroom). They were so disastrous, I went 9-0 mid as skeleton king and it didn't matter (admittedly, SK is kinda not the best hero, but in my defence I randomed him  ). Our luna, (who had utter free farm for 40+ minutes) decided the best way to use her hero was to press R and run into as much of jakiro's AOE as she could eat, making sure to take pugna ward + blast damage and never ever right click. I think her BKB which she had for 20+ minutes was on the 8 second charge at the end of the game. Meanwhile her friend chen made sure to never individually select any units, favouring the "large blob of units" style of control. He managed to never cast a creep ability while also making sure his hero was within melee range of their sven every fight. I had these clowns 3 games in a row. We even won one o.O.

Lol can u link a game? I swear to god the Luna is a spot on description of how my less then 20 games played girlfriend plays Luna and she played last night and the night before it, mostly Luna:D

When I have a run like that, I just pick Drow rather than random and call mid. Pretty hard to lose that way. Not satisfying, but better than a loss!

No one ever does anything when you call ss. They even have the nerve to complain about no call afterward. Something like the following happens far too often to be good for my sanity.
Me: ss pudge probably going for bot rune.
A ward spots pudge bottling a haste rune 5 seconds later.
Me: Pudge with haste, care bot. *pings a few times so that autoattacking people sitting in front of the enemy tower can get out of there. They do nothing and continue to plink away at the tower.*
Pudge activates haste and runs into the lane for a free double kill, tons of gold, and the start of an ever increasing xp lead.
Noobs: OMGWTFBBQ?!?! Pudge ss?!?!?!?!?!one!1oen1?!?

The only good thing about that game was the time where I was legitimately 1 on 4 and got 3 kills before the last one ran away. Which highlighted just how little my team was actually doing (being free gold for the opponents, mostly). Admittedly, a few crits may have been involved.

As I think I've stated a few times in this very thread - people will make the most stupid lies to shift blame or win an argument. Stuff that can be proven false in a matter of seconds, but they will keep on saying it.

I like dota 2, but its nearly unplayable because of all the pinging. Is there a way to delete the ping noise from the game itself? Its just insufferable and the worst part is if you ask them nicely to please stop- its like fuel to the fire, PING PING PING PING PING PING!!! They just can't help themselves. It seems to be everyone's way of taking out there anger from death or from not being listened to.

There was recently something on /r/dota2 about a variable that changed how long pings lasted on the map, but reducing the sounds? I'm not sure. I could go for something like a "max 3 second burst of ping" to reduce spam though. AKA if you ping more than 5 times in 3 seconds, you can't ping for another 5 seconds or something. If you keep ping spamming it takes away your ping for like a minute, to let you calm down. Dunno.
I usually ping 3-4 times in a burst on stuff that is important, since about half my pings are from item casts (I use alt + qweasd). I've gotten better at it but valve needs to fix it where if I'm activating a targeted item I don't ping as well.

And I thought selecting just europe west would make a difference, seriously, what the fuck. They should put an auto-low priority when you type russian in chat. I always call missing, but honestly it doesn't really do much half the time. People just ignore it and play the same and get ganked anyway. Some of these people are even stupid enough to then complain about no one calling ss.
If anyone has taken psych 101, please analyze for me how it's possible that people seem to lose their reading comprehension skills when playing dota.

It's pretty obvious that it's not lack of reading comprehension, just people not reading their chat. That doesn't make it any better, but less experienced players will be focused on last hitting/denying and what's going on in their lane specifically and not watching chat for ss or the minimap for missing heroes. So you call "ss," the chat fades away and then they get ganked and blame you for not calling it. Still retarded though.
