So my winrates for specific heroes look like this: 135 Crystal Maiden 54.81% 122 Rubick 47,54% 81 Windranger 40.74% 42 Lina 42.86% So I'm a pretty bad support (except as CM) and a terrible offlaner... right? 75 Chen 64.00% (Thanks Whole :D) 24 Centaur 66.67% 21 Tidehunter 76.19% - offlane tide too strong 23 Luna 60.87% 16 Shadow Fiend 56,25% Wait... so I'm obviously an idiot for playing core roles all the time, as I tend to succeed much more with them... right? One of my friends - 9 games this month, 22% winrate with him - I typically play supports, he and his stack are around 1k rating above me. Another one - 5 games this month, 20% winrate - again I typically play supports and he's part of the +1k stack. Another? - 10 games this month, 90% winrate - is about 500 rating above me and it is a small stack, meaning I take centaur/luna/tide/clinkz/chen/whatever a fair portion of the games. I could go on about how there are heroes that I pick not because they're gonna win, but because they're fucking fun (Puck and Lina are the worst offenders :D) and how that tends to degrade winrates... but the point is, there are so many variables that feed in to HOW you got those winrates that it is VERY hard to look at a winrate in isolation as a meaningful data point in almost any spectrum.
That also applies to your actual MMR, though. Party MMR is totally determined by the types of stacks you play with, just like your winrates.
Party stats are just useless unless you have a single stack. In fact, pretty much all dota stats are useless unless you're in pro games.

For selecting a player to join my team, i could use dotabuff winrates and dotabuff number of games played to see if they have alot of experience in a certain role.

Normal games can get ugly, stupid, shitty, and toxic enough, but the LPQ games I got this morning were on a totally different level compared to those. People are bad. Every game, there were at least three 5-minute pauses for someone who DCed, and that is if there were no unpause wars to begin with (every game had at least one). Whenever a particularly large in-game event transpires (teamwipe, tower down) they like pausing the game and going "?"

I've lost 650 pts in 2 weeks for reasons I don't fully understand. Like...huge loss streaks. Huge. And repeated over and over. 3400 to 2750. I know it's all trenching but still. It's not even fun. Like, I am a masters SC2 player. If you lose 10 games in a row, you're going to beat some ass for the next 10ish games. I am -- no exaggeration -- losing virtually every game. I am playing different roles to the best of my ability, communicating, etc.
When does the MMR "help" kick in?  Never? Sorry for rant, I've just never experienced anything like this -- really in any game ever. It seems draconian and, uh, not fun.

Play ogre, be roaming support that goes ham from level 4. Makes game fun even if i loose (1 crit is worth a 50 minute game man!) and ogre wins games in trenchtown

Game 1:
Offlane TC feeds 0-4 and is in general just absoluetly useless, never autoattacks no matter how much DMG he got from spirit…
But somehow we become a bit more „stable“ during midgame (due to the laning stage ending so he stopped feeding all alone :p) and a comeback wasn't impossible depending on our jungle Doom.
Well... Doom at like 25 minutes has Phaseboots/Midas. He started the game off by jungling for no reason at all (we laned ES/Lina bot…)… and.. sigh.. 0-7-0 Doom ftw.. He jungled and went Devour/Nuke, not that he ever showed up to a gank or anything...
Game 2:
I pick Venge because we needed support and it synergizes nice with our randomed SF. Others pick Kotl, Brewmaster and Mirana. Soooo… We can lane this in like any possible way (mid brew, sf, mirana… safelane sf, brew… dual lanes...).
What does my team „decide“ to do?
Venge/Kotl top - Brew/Mirana bot - SF mid.
… Luckily the very same guy that ruined our first game with his TC was on the enemy team. This time he fed our brew/mirana like mad so the laning worked out and brew/mirana both got decent farm… But still… Why don’t people think for a second before moving to a lane?
Having farm and especially levels on Venge felt nice for once (i went Midas -> Treads -> BKB while buying wards :D).
I have loved to see the face the enemy mid-qop player made after he jumped me and got solokilled :D.

The worst PL I have ever seen. Like like doesn't know how TPs work. Buys them and then doesn't use them to escape a clear gank. Then we get fountain camped for like 10 minutes.

There is nothing worse than being all excited to play Dota after work and then having two games with the worst possible players. I don't believe in ELO hell, but I do believe that it would have been a crime if my team mates had won the way they played.
I don't know what it is with people in all pick(I couldn't find a match in CM or CD) where they just farm all game long, never push and just get more and more items. Just play diablo if you like to farm that hard. The kid was literally 6 sloted and had 4K gold and still wouldn't push.

Dota is hardly a proper game to have fun after work for a few games, I do regardless.
Played 4 games in a row, won 3 of them so easily not even challenged a bit. The opponents were awful, I was in core roles etc.. not even funny. Then I choose to play hardlane BB against earthspirit, PA and jungle axe. The lane was hard but I manage to kill PA twice, died a few times in the process. We have DP, SS and lycan so I thought we'd push them to death, 20 min ez gg but no. 3v1 easy lane with Lycan farm only leads 40 cs ahead of me, very late bad item timings, "I am useless before blink" sandking... I know I overextended sometimes but I thought I create some space while keeping 3 man in a lane for %80 of the time. It doesn't work out.
