[H] Help with specs for HOTS preorder?

Stardroid United Kingdom159 Posts November 20 2012 16:30 GMT #1 Hi all, I hope I'm posting in the right place and that this kind of post isn't offensive (as it's really of little interest to others?), but I'm not tech savvy at all and I basically don't know if I should preorder HOTS based on my current system specs? I run WOL on minimum settings and only have problems when a million zerglings/ other units are moving together, which means loss of frame rate but I play zerg so a-move still works ;p. Anyhow here are my specs, any comments would be appreciated. Nimix France1809 Posts November 20 2012 17:15 GMT #2 Actually I'm getting better performance on the beta than on WoL. At equal video settings, a maxed marine army selected and moving doesn't make me drop FPS, while it does on WoL. Seems like they finally improved the engine!

Nimix France1809 Posts November 20 2012 18:23 GMT #4 Hm, not exactly, I'm on an ok PC, I5 2500 3.3ghz and GTX560 Ti, but I think that if I saw an improvement you should see it too, unless it has something to do with using more than 2 CPU cores. I'm no expert, but at least I think it shouldn't be worse on your end, if you play on the same settings

Cyro United Kingdom20275 Posts November 21 2012 01:17 GMT #5 I doubt they will prevent you from playing the game, but that is a very weak system, you must have awful performance in sc2. That was a low end CPU 6 years ago, i wouldnt be suprised at all if you could get 4-5x the minimum framerates on a £500 desktop.

Stardroid United Kingdom159 Posts November 21 2012 11:05 GMT #6 Cyro yeah I don't really have awful performance, just skipping when there's too much going on (and I mean TOO much, not normal gameplay). Whether or not it's affecting my keystrokes I wouldn't know, as I'm that awful I'd love to have a better computer but am too poor. Woe is me. But good news for HOTS! Stardroid Space
