Anything to note in regards to latest video cards and motherboard (which to not get, get etc)? Is Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 77W still good nowadays (even for recent games) or are there better CPUs for the price range (I looked it up on newegg and it's $224 which was the same when I bought it a little more than a year ago)? 1. Yes, Intel CPUs are faster and more power efficient than AMD's. 2. Not really. Check benchmarks for video cards. Currently, some of the higher-end video cards seem to be price inflated because of cryptocurrency mining or something. Get a compatible motherboard. Prices don't drop on CPUs generally (for Intel) when new generations are available. Not sure why you wouldn't pick the newer i5-4670k and Z87 motherboard unless that's somewhat significantly more expensive. It doesn't affect performance. Technically you're not supposed to go much over 1.5V on modern Intel processors for the sake of the integrated memory controller, but 1.65V is definitely in the range of *wink wink* okay. If you want to overclock RAM for marginal performance gains, a higher voltage may be necessary to have it run stably. As for what it can take and what the memory controller can take, it depends on the RAM (which modules are being used) and the CPU. Generally it's not much worth tweaking unless you like doing it as a hobby.

I didn't know about that and I didn't really check any other CPUs yet (I was just checking what I bought and going from that). Good to know and thanks ![]()

Nevermind, posting this on TL reminded me of newegg's PSU calculator, which I totally forgot about. I somehow made the connection because TL was my first top to building my computer ![]()
