sc2 keeps crashing

Hello. I looked around to see if this may have been a patch problem or something but couldn't find anything on it. Basically, after about 5 - 20 minutes of playing a game my starcraft crashes and I get this error

ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xC0000005)
occurred at 0023:2619D6A8. The memory at '0x2619D6A8' could not be executed.

I tried to google but that didnt help. I even tried to reinstall starcraft 2 and that didnt help either. It happens in every single ladder or custom I tried to play so I have no idea. Any help would be great, thanks.

I've been having the same problem since the new patch came out =\.

Strangely enough i tested out playing team games on ladder and my game didn't seem to crash but after 1 or 2 1v1 ladder games my game crashes. If I do find a solution I'll definitely post it but i really have no idea what to do at the moment..

Same here. Seems to happen to me in 1v1 exclusively. Weird.

Yeah ever since the new patch my SC2's been crashing like crazy. Lost at least 10 ladder games because of it.

My starcraft crashes everytime before the log in.
I have kinda old comp and before this patch I could barely play sc2 1v1 with minimum graphic settings. Tho it never crashed before, it was just sometimes slow.

Running SC2 as administrator seems to have fixed it. I was able to play 4 ladder games with no problems before i stopped playing so hope it works for you guys

I think I fixed mine. Didn't crash for 6 or so games.

I removed Sc2 from anti-virus protection

Update: doesn't work!

It could be that because the files were recently modified that it was watching them more closely or something. Who knows.

Same here. It become more frequently after the new patch. I'm thinking it might be due to the patch. I totally had about 7 crashes since the game released, 5 of them happened after 1.3.

Yeah same I've been having problems, when I go to like a custom game I made it doesn't crash but a quick match yeah it does, even while I am in a game... But I'll try that running as a Admin idea when I get off L4D.

EDIT: UPDATE

I just played around 6-7 games running it on Administrator and it worked fine. Also I did do a repair on SC2 but there was nothing wrong. Try playing as an administrator. Hope it helps!

Getting this memory leak issue after the next patch as well. just happened to unstable during a cast of FXO tournament as well about 5 minutes ago.

I'm also using a GTX 470. But 2 of my friends who also have the exact same video card as me do not have this problem.

This poster says he had this problem due to a defective RAM stick
but that still doesn't really explain why I'm getting this problem only after the patch

I think the latest patch may be exposing some systems with flaky ram or ram running out of spec. I have been monitoring this as well as trying different overclocks on my ram to ascertain exactly what the problem is.

I will try to update if I get any more info.

The game crashes exclusivly early game when I spam APM... and I hate it.... 70% of my games just crash.

there are quite a few people with this stupid fatal error problem and no one seems to have a fix for it . prob because this is something on blizzard's end.

i made a post on their technical support forums and got a few responses with people having the same issue here :

please post and let them know it's a significant number of people affected (most likely) by something they did with 1.3.0. since they have yet to even acknowledge the problem .. =/

Yah, everyone who has this problem should really post on that thread. Maybe Blizzard will stop ignoring this and actually address it and do a fix. It's ridiculous that players like SeleCt who play competitively have to deal with this especially with something like MLG coming up. sigh..

people have theories on the BNET forums
theyre saying it only happens to Terran and it has to do with how your units make the unit sounds every single time u switch control groups now. So spamming your control groups as Terran seems to be the cause :O! Makes a lot of sense to me now. really hope Blizzard fixes this soon.

I deactivated the unitsounds and it still crashed for me in the first game.

this may be the case, i've crashed multiple times and the one thing in common seems to be it happens when i click workers.

Temporary Fix from blizzard

Same problem, hasn't happened since I ran the repair tool, but I will try this as well, thanks LaiShin! And it sucks because it happened to me during my placements, towards the midgame, and I was so far in the lead :/

Hopefully this fixes others problems as well until blizzard gets a fix for it.
