It used to be fine on Beta, where it only took a second max. Now everytime I alt tab to window, I need to wait good old 15 seconds staring at the black screen.
Anyone else has this problem? And has anyone found the cause or solution?

I also noticed if you start the application fresh, you can alt tab just fine. But once you entered a game, it will take ages to alt tab. My grahpics setting are set to Ultra at the moment, maybe I will lower it to test it, but as stated before, Beta runs just fine for me.

![]() Seems like something they could fix though because I never had issues in the beta.

With a fresh start of the game alt-tab works instantly, but after some time it takes about 15 seconds. Settings are on ultra, ingame resolution = desktop resolution. Set to fullscreen (not windowed). It's pretty annoying.

this makes no sense.. all the setting are the same as they were during beta, I got a fast computer, 5850hd OC`ed, i7 920 OCed to 3,5ghz, 6gigs triple channel ddr 3 ram.. my screen res is the same as the game res 1920x1200. do you guys think this will be fixed ? I will turn it on windowed mode for now.. but whats the difference between that and full screen then ?? it must be in some way less then normal full screen right ? I just wanna get everything out of the game that I can so having to degrade because some bad coding or whatever by blizzard is not cool at all. ![]()

People do not really seem to read this thread, it has been mentioned several times already :S .Alt-tabbing is nearly instantaneous when using Windows (Fullscreen). Edit: @Juvator: Windowed (Fullscreen) provides the exact same gaming experience as Fullscreen.

EDIT: Window Max is NOT the same as fullscreen. It'll give you the freedom of tabbing, at the cost of performance.

There is a performance hit, it is not the same at all. Everything is the same, your frame rate might drop a little bit. The difrence however between 60 and 55 doesnt matter mutch anyways. For me it didnt since it was capped at 60 anyways.

You still shouldn't have to resort to playing in this mode and taking a hit on performance especially if your computer is more than capable to run SC2 on the highest settings, and cannot alt tab in fashion.

One time when I exited sc2 my resolution was changed to the same as sc2 and I never bothered to change it back.

On a similar subject though, it seems like retail SC2 is really stressing my computer way more than beta was. Not sure exactly why.

I've ran two or more versions past 10.8, like 10.1 and 11.1 and they didn't fix the problem, so I dont' see how 10.8 does.

Changing to windowed fullscreen will 'solve' the issue but it doesn't actually fix anything. There is an issue with ATI card drivers that is causing a huge delay on changing resolutions, Find some old drivers and fix the issue.
