btw i disagree about koreans being average at starcraft 2 when it comes out because they copy each other. Like 98% of the good and creative strategies have been invented by koreans.

and auto minning should be for like LAN only, if your having a LAN party with friends thats fine but for competitive starcraft I think its going to be a pain..

We all used to. right click on the video and make sure that the little bar for how much info can fit on your harddrive is set to unlimited. Then it should load right up, give it 2 minutes after you do this for 100% perfect stream everytime.

I see a start of world gosus, not just koreans, and here will be teams by cities, like for Basketball or something. But not like a huge surge in society though, but like its not going to be abnormal talking about starcraft in public, and there will atleast 1 household name (like boxer)

Of course, no one can predit who will be good at SC2, but if anything, I'd say most competitive players become better and better until they reach a peak, in both skill and dedication, that goes down after some time, which is why I think those who were obviously dominant in SC:BW won't be that dominant in the beggining of SC2, while players who were always there but never got the opportunity to shine will have the perfect opportunity to do so in SC2. I wouldn't be surprised at all by some kind of "blast from the past". Tillerman was competitive in the beggining of SC but became a true monster only in WAR3. Some competitive players from SC and WAR3 will show their full power for the first time in SC2, that's for sure. Grrr seems pretty confident, and we all know what he's capable of. All I know is that I'll never be able to dedicate myself to games like I did back in WAR3 anymore. I was pretty competitive for a while, played in a very big US East guild, and even managed to beat some famous players like Showtime back in the day. Now, with a job and a GF, I'm ok with being just a 40 APM newbie who makes maps in SC2. ![]()

to say that there are going to be people coming up with no RTS experience to be top players in the beginning is dumb imo. there are so many knowledgeable players awaiting this game, so many people with at least some idea of how to approach an rts game, how to practice, how to compete. even tho many won't do so as well as others, someone coming in with no experience will have too much to learn to get up high quickly. even like 6?7?8? years ago when war3 came out, only a tiny number of unknowns rose in the beginning. now rts is FAR more defined. i just cant see it happening.

Starcraft nowadays is so mapped out, you could actually become pretty good just by memorizing BO's whiteout even knowing why they work. Remember back when there were no Replays? That were the really good times for *smart* players. Replays changed the evolution of the game drastically, suddenly everyone could copycat the working BO's that smart guys figured out and could actually check how they just got owned. Before replays? Sometimes you just got dropped/attacked by XX amount of Units and were just WTF HOW CAN HE HAVE THAT MUCH and you would have never known, you just got PWNT!!! whiteout a clue if you just got outplayed or your enemy was doing some, by nowadays standard, *nearly*-all-in built (hydra break for instance)... The people that will dominate the SC2 ladder in the first 2-3 Month's will be the ones that *grasp* the game the fastest, no one else, I don't think it will matter if they actually played Starcraft. It's far more important that they understand how the resources/units *work*, smart people will figure that out (to some extent) in no time while others won't get it until someone shows them BO's. I *get* games fast, if you give me a random RTS I never played and let me have 1 hour I will be far better than most people after that time (I made bet's about such things with my school friends in random games, always won :p). I went into DoW1 2 weeks after release and instantly made a ~15-2 record? Just because most people *don't get it* (and the ones that did get it were already way higher in ladder because they started on release ![]() I went into WC3 and made the Top 100 Europe with really nice stats for 2-3 Months and then I slowly dropped (and stopped playing), my success was not based on superior micro, my micro was worse than most peoples in the top 500. Why could I make it that high anyway? Most people did just not get the game. They built the wrong units, they wouldn't counter correctly, they were retarded. Many people basically ignored what this game was about. Just look at other games, I never played Supreme Commander online, but in my 5th game I won 1on3 hard CPU's. When watching some SubCom forums I saw that there are really people that struggle with 1 hard CPU saying they played SupCom for 2 weeks (well, I would call this a mental illness)... SC2 won't be about mechanics, it won't be about micro, it won't be about APM, it won't be about Macro. It will be about who *see's* the fastest how this game has to be played, before replays let retards with mechanics catch up ![]() I doubt I will do as good in SC2 as I did in WC3, just because the average SC/BW player is probably a little smarter than the avg. WC3 player (else he would never have played WC3 for that long ![]() It will be glorious for many, many old school SC/BW players and it will be harsh to many, many Mechabots.
