4. Tastless lost his passion: Those of us old enough to remember the glory days of GOMTV Brood War coverage remember the soothing growl of his voice. But as his passion for SC2 disappeared, he just didn't seemed to have the dedication to stay committed to his unhealthy living habit. Apparently, he now only chain smoke a whole pack of cigarette on the days when he cast BW and you can really heard the difference.
100% yes, same goes for Artosis

Reading the title and the poster, I kinda expected something like this (whereas one of the usual sad zealot user might have been serious), funny read! Getting up early in the morning to watch MarineKing get slaughtered by Mvp at sunset are fond memories, but I don’t miss the GomTV player and awful stream qualities

I don't follow SC2 but I saw format of GSL changed. What you guys think, is it better than before or they better bring old format back?

I believe the new format is only as good as how the matches go. One thing I do like about the format itself is that all the matches are known in advance, so players can prepare 100% for what’s in front of them, whereas the old format players are preparing for matches that might not happen.
For the first time we had crazy jeopardy, with both the likes of Maru underperforming, and guys like Creator and Rag pulling out big results. This specific time round I found it more exciting than the usual groups.
If, on the other hand the top players all show up, I could see it being quite a boring processional stage, lacking too many stakes.
Although there’s fewer matches in the GSL one, the WCS EU groups are extremely boring not because of the format itself, but because the top tier are levels above and it’s very, very predictable.
I don’t like Bo5 for Ro4. That’s the only actual issue I have with the format itself

This is not a response that will make me popular. This is not a post that will start negative but end with eloquent, poignant hope. But we have been skirting around this topic ever since 2018 now, so I’ll just f**king say it:
The competition in Korea at this point is a farce.

Tasteless regained his passion with LotV. Since then the casts rly lvled up in enjoyment, much more lively and many more jokes.

That said GSL has reasonably regular Terran/Protoss presence in the finals, and the former have even won a few, so transplanting Serral and Reynor over will make GSL reflect what we’ve seen in the World Championships for a while

I'm on the same boat as some of the previous posters, my only problem with that new format is the bo5 ro4, I loved to have them bo7. Otherwise it's fine even if I personally liked the former format better.

almost got baited, good post
pls have twice perform next gsl

You forgot the worst part of it all, these trophies which are extremely ugly. I think that is a big reason serral doesn't play in gsl, who would play in a tournament for a month to win that?

This is especially true in the COVID era because GSL remained offline, and I think we should take online results with a grain of salt. It's understandable why we took them more seriously during the COVID era because we had almost nothing else, but hopefully once lans become more regular we'll be skeptical of them again.
Once we have more regular lans with Serral, Reynor, Clem, and 5-6 of the top Koreans it will be debatable whether GSL is still the second most prestigious tournament though. Because I think the format of GSL tests for skill better than weekenders I'll still consider it the second most prestigious tournament, but that's a very subjective judgement on my part.

I think you’re correct, I’m more comparing GSL’s prestige say 5 years ago vs today, and I think to even bridge that gap a little Serral/Reynor etc playing would be a bump

I'd rate this as a 3/5 troll post. Decent, but its no baller
