I'm a little surprised that Bulwark got the most votes of the four 4p maps. Honestly, I thought that one was the least best of the 4, and didn't exactly have the best of showings at the tournament. I wonder if any of the 4p maps will actually make it on the ladder in the next couple of seasons. I don't think the pro's, from what they expressed during the tournament, want any of them to be. We shall see I suppose.

I’m glad Treadmill made it high I think the map has a lot of potential. Super sad for Curious Minds / Berlingrad, I think they are super strong maps for being in the rush category, Curious Minds is my personal favourite. Berlingrad does not deservw to be so far down. Surprised how well super large, take your bases and do nothing for 20 minute maps fared. Hoping only one makes ladder, they didn’t make for enjoyable games. Personal top few were: Curious Minds Yamatai Treadmill Berlingrad The Scavenger / Sanguinite / Fountainhead

Here's to hoping that ESL will be wise to choose the right maps for the ladder. Out of curiosity, which are the maps that are super large? Pride of Altaris? I really didn't like any of the 4p maps, including the games. (Even though I think some of the aesthetics for them were great!) Even for GSL, when Nautilus is played, none of them made for good games. I still don't really get why we want 4p in a 1v1 tournament. All the gains from 4p maps can be done in 2p maps, with none of the drawbacks.

All the gains from 4p maps can be done in 2p maps, with none of the drawbacks. Pride is big, but didn't seem impossible to attack on and to make interesting games happen on. Enchanted Isle was the worst offended, large, all the bases are set back and the game just sits with players mining out. I'm worried the Aqueducts meta will be very passive as well, as bases are well protected, but the games we saw didn't suggest that so far (but we have always seen map metas look very different in the tournament vs when they hit the ladder, see Blackburn which gave amazing games in TLMC and is now the bane of any non-Terran.) Edit: I don't think it's overall an issue having passive maps / easy to defend early bases, but I would love to avoid every BO3 having a map thats guaranteed 20+ minutes of nothing happening, it becomes old very quick. Definitely would only like to see one of the larger maps in ladder at a time.

Blizzard will pick the most suitable maps, it's common for the maps outside of top 5 to hit ladder, and also with current map rotation, it's possible to exhaust more than 6-7 maps before the new TLMC.

Personal top few were: Curious Minds Yamatai Treadmill Berlingrad The Scavenger / Sanguinite / Fountainhead As long as I'm your number one, Wardiii, I don't mind not getting into the top 5. After all, I believe that Blizzard can recognise the potential of the good maps. I made Curious Minds to break the cycle of skytoss and introduce back the old builds and other ways to play starcraft, focused on the early to mid game compositions. With the triple void ray buff, and Blizzard not patching the game anymore, the maps are the only way to balance the game. I hope that people who don't like rush maps would understand the reason behind creating them and our strive for variety in the map pool. I'm looking forward to the next TLMC. Much love to anyone who made this one happen.

As per usual the winners of the public vote are the maps that managed to stand out from the competition, very well deserved. My maps didn't do so hot, but with 2 in the finalists I really can't complain. Maybe this will teach me to spend more time on the decoration on all 5 of my submissions, not just the 3 that didn't get chosen :D

To the contest organizers, thanks so much for running this! I do think that voting should be open longer, in particular I think voting should be open for at least a full week after the last vod from the TLMC wardi tournament is posted on YouTube. I think lots of people don't want to vote until they've seen maps in real games, and for people with full time jobs it can take a week to catch up on the vods form an event.
