The WCS Spring qualifiers/Challenger tournaments came to an end as Neeb claimed the first place spot from the North American region with a 4-0 victory over JonSnow.
The conclusion of North America's Challenger tournament finalizes the list of sixteen players who have earned direct seeds (as well as travel and accommodations) into group stage #3 of the upcoming WCS Spring tournament in Kiev (May 17-19). The seeded players will compete against 64 open bracket contenders at WCS Spring for the first unified WCS Circuit championship of the year, as well as a seed at the WCS Global Finals.
Also particularly excited for TLO, can't believe he is still around and kicking ass. I remember when he was well known way back in beta days for his ingenuity.

You cannot partake in GSL and WCS Challenger in the same season. But she can be there at Kiev, meaning the WCS main event. Next season she can make the choice again between code S and challenger

There is no choice to make past Season 1/Spring, Blizzard scrapped the rule. She's already in Code S again along with Special, the only reason he tried this time is because he can still play Challenger for Summer.

Good job by Neeb, but in the end there wasn't really somebody able to challange him with Scarlett not playing.
I am happy for TLO, too.
But to be honest, it also shows one more how weak overall NA is. TLO barely made it to RO16 in the last european qualifiers / tournaments he played. I don't think any player besides Neeb (and Scarlett, if she had played in the Qualifiers) from the NA Top 8 could have made it into the EU Top 8. Maybe they wouldn't even be the favorite against Top16 EU Players.
The distribution of seeds on regions seems really unfair. EU is so much stronger than the rest. We should have a distribution like EU (10), NA (4), Rest (2).

Yes Region-Lock Europe away from the poor rest of the world so they can grow stronk
On a more serious note, doesn't matter too much since you can still go through the group phases in Kiev

Well Neeb, Scarlett, and Special could potentially be favored over any EU player other than Serral. They'd also all be capable of beating Serral sometimes. So I'd say NA is pretty top heavy. One great zerg, one great terran, and one great protoss, then mediocrity below them.
