Serral fans complaining so much about the last PR kinda proved that.

Because people have spent years arguing that sOs's 2 don't mean much. sOs's two blizzcons and iem championship is literally why he's one of the all time greats.

His two blizzcon wins combined with a ridiculous proleague history are why he's an all time great. But people still argued his wins weren't as impressive as Zest, INno, Rain etc because those guys won in GSL and tournaments in korea. When sOs won blizzcon both times he wasn't even considered the best in the world (even according to TL PR I think), and not even close to player of the year. Though to be fair his IEM win wasn't that impressive, Katowice wasn't the stacked 76 player world championship it is now

Clearly the only explanation is he lost the power of the patch.

I didn't think I'd have needed to seriously answer to this again. A patchzerg would have never won HSC, Terran who had adapted faster to the new patch and every Zerg here, Rogue and soO included, was failing hard. Not even mentioning patchX is usually referred to nonames becoming competitive while X race starts to dominate tournaments, korean Zerg didn't reach a single final after April last year, only Reynor did at WCS Montreal; not exactly the overbearing performance one overpowered race should show, don't you think? Zerg was having even or slightly favourable matchups, yet Serral won every tournament he entered while the others failed to even win one. Serral's period of domination was the longest(yes, he didn't play against koreans, I know) and after that ended he reached ro8 at IEM, 2nd place at WESG and a guaranteed top3 at WCS; probably one of the best slumps I can think of. He didn't "lose to everyone", but it's crystal clear his level isn't the same he mantained for so many months last year; I can categorically exclude it's because of the patch, It's much more likely that's because he didn't train enough, his motivations aren't as compelling as they were(hard to keep up after winning so much in so few time) and/or his physical condition aren't the best. Time will tell.

NinjaNight is most likely trolling but the joke was becoming persistent so it made me doubt; others in this thread, however, are dead serious so I felt a proper answer was needed. While Rodya's temp ban should be over in less than one week, Dave4 was permabanned. It would have been fun to see his reaction to this article; moreover, he was right about HSC's Drunk Rank.

You're forgetting that in 2018 a tier 3 non-Korean pro finally won a premiere tournament off the back of a match up that was Wings of Liberty level imbalanced in favor of Zerg. The match up was somewhat fixed after that but was still Zerg favored for pretty much all of 2018.
