The opening day of 2019 WCS Circuit saw uThermal and Rail advance from the round-of-32 in WCS Europe competition, while SpeCial and MCanning were victorious in their WCS Americas group.
The day's games marked the beginning of the WCS Winter, an online-focused competition that replaces a live, WCS Circuit tournament. 64 players from around the world will compete in online play for the next two months, with the tournament concluding in live playoffs for the top performers (read more about WCS Winter here). Blizzard has yet to reveal any information about the remainder of the 2019 WCS Circuit.
WCS Winter continues on February 1st with more RO32 action, with HeRoMaRinE, MaNA, ShaDoWn, and SKilous competing in WCS Europe while Scarlett, ExpecT, Epic, and PiLiPiLi will contend for RO16 spots in WCS Americas.

Do you think they would cancel it mid-way or?
you never know these days no information yet? im thinking there goin to cancel wcs this year they dropped HoTS something going on why no information at all.
Mr. uThermal almost sacrificed his rank in the group to show the balance team that Thor is completely useless even facing Phoenix Colossus controlled by a much weaker Protoss opponent.
So... there were Bly in EU and Has in NA to expect entertaining games. Feels like EU WCS lost too much with this results. Although glad for Rail, his results were so far away from his level through the whole last year.
