Who are apart of the IEM sc2 on-screen crew besides Apollo? Tastosis flying in?

Unless a miracle happen Apollo won't be casting, he is behind the scene now.

Usually Tastosis is there, Rotterdam will also 100% be there, and then for the rest in depend but it will probably be 3 other from the usual suspect : Pig-Maynarde-Tod-Incontrol-Nate-ZG... with maybe Kaelaris as host.

He's on fire right now, he's good for the sport, and if you are inviting anyone to your tourney, it's him. The first ever foreigner to crush the whole scene in the history of the sport and you're bored with it already?

What, i suppose you want more korean dominance...that'll get old for me fast. Lol, i can't help but call you an irritable moron.

It feels a bit weird because IEM had zero SC2 events in their 2018 season.

You could start providing a link with your complain when Rogue (Blizzcon champ 2017) was invited to IEM World Championship Katowice 2018, in case there is something objective to complain about all this. For me is completely reasonable to assure the presence of Blizzcon champ to hype the tournament.

If you can't provide this link, and your complain is only about your feelings about Serral, you are evidently a moron.

Rogue was invited to Katowice last year too, so it's consistent.

And let's be honest, unless Serral drops off massively, he would qualify for everything this year anyway.

Really it just means europe will get an extra qualifying slot into the ro24, assuming same format as last year.
Zest, sOs, PartinG, Dark, and Maru are the real champs. ROOT_herO is overrated. Snute, Serral, and Scarlett are the foreigner GOATs

For me it isn't about whether or not he would qualify nor about Rogue being invited to Katowice last year, it feels Serral's invites have become "trendy" by the end of this year going into next year. If it starts to happen constantly, I'll get sick of it which, who cares, but I also think there's something to be said about the competition and storylines that happen from tough qualifiers and that taking strong players out of every qualifier could be worse for the competition as a whole. Imo, removing challenges (tough players) for other players gives them fewer things to overcome, fewer opportunities to learn and get better. I also think it's a shame to remove the opportunity for an (unlikely, sure) upset to happen in the qualifiers even if the tournament organizers and a lot of viewers would be disappointed if it happened.

I'm not saying it's false that the qualifiers could be more competitive when such a dominant player is removed from them and more room is made for other players, but I think it's bad to do constantly for a lot of reasons and I worry that it's going to become a constant thing.

Well, he is the end boss. You have to play through the game to get to the end boss. He is not in the first level. Imagine your lvl 5 Warrior has to face Diablo after 5 mins into the game with his scrappy white items and maybe one blue...

Eh, are players like Maru, Stats, or TY not big bosses also? It's also not like you somehow 'level up' while playing a tournament, your skill at the start is about the same as at the end. It seems like you're supporting a setup like Chess with a Candidates tournament and a separate championship match. That system has its merits, but in a game like SC2, I think it's more impressive for a 'champion' to show their merit by being able to slog through the brackets like everyone else, because there's always the chance of being tripped up by something unexpected.

I don't minds invites too much, but I prefer players starting on an equal playing field for each tournament.

Yay for SC2 returning to Katowice!!!!
Little note: "Premium tickets [...] premium seating." That's only true for the semifinals and final, right?

We have witnessed many occasions where a player would tighten his play towards the end of a bracket. Thinking of Zest and sOs.

No GSL and no JAGW announcement yet. I'd be very careful
I imagine France should be able to take this unless Lilbow is busy practicing for Starcraft III. | KadaverBB is my fairy ban mother.
