Group O - ret - The Ret? Nice!

Pretty balanced groups, no groups of death besides maybe SortOf/Zanster/Ret. Interested in the Duran brothers’ form.

No? Ret is gonna drone to 97 without scouting and die to a standard timing and whining about OP Protoss/ OP terran or OP zerg.

Only 3 Protoss players qualified? Wtf?

Leipzig was the same, and even Austin had more Terrans qualified than Protosses.

Ret, vortix, and lucifron. Damn nice.
|
Gogogo, Neeb, Reynor, and Clem! Also, is anyone still thinking that Serral's gonna claim his 3rd title in Valencia? Can any player stop him?
|
Group I looks good to

What they lack in quantity they make up in quality though, and with Neeb and Showtime in the open qualifiers, I think toss will be represented just fine in the later stages of the tournament.

Stephano and Vortix in the same group, it reminds good memories !

oh nice! Lucifron and Vortix are back. haven't heard those tags in a long yime. but after all it's in Valencia...
overall very nice lineup. could use more korean legends tho
|
wouldn't be suprised if Lucifron and Vortix made it out despite not palying the game for years LMAO
|
The Thor drop opening by Lucifron is still one of my fondest memories as well as Lucifron vs MVP games. I probably would bet Raynor to win it all not Serral, unless the recent GSL result was a fluke. Reynor was pretty dominant vs Classic.

people are really putting reynor close to serral?
where was reynor in the last wcs events? i wouldn't be suprised if he drops out ro16 / ro8. Reynors win was mainly based on a different zerg style.

Your logic is flawed. I agree he's not going to be close to Serral but there's two things you haven't taken into account:
1. To answer your question, he wasn't able to compete in previous WCS events due to his age. 2. In every event that Reynor has competed in in 2018 so far, he's wildly outperformed expectations: a. Nationwars V: All-Kill of Team France (DnS, Clem, Stephano), Team China (TIME, Cyan, Macsed), and Team Norway (Snute... Also Poseidon and Scythe I guess). b. WESG Finals: Beat IaSonu and Special before losing to Maru 3-0, who then beat Serral 3-0 as well. c. GSL: Beat TOP, Trust, and Kelazur to advance to RO16 where he beat Byun and Classic to advance.
I'm just saying, you can't say "where was he in the last WCS events" when he literally wasn't allowed to compete in them, and when he's competed he's done great. He might not be on Serral's level yet, but he's certainly a player to watch out for.

WOA i didnt know he beat serral too. 3-0??? zvz??? nice
Anyway Reynor is looking really good, not dominating wcs good, but i think his ceiling might be higher then Serral's... but maybe i'm biased.
This WCS will be interesting
edit: oops you meant maru beat serral 3-0 8(. Just checked aligulac; For Serral, Reynor is just another innocent zerg to pad his record
