I was a bit curious actually, does anyone know what his education history looks like? I'd assume he completed high school but honestly don't know. I suspect he's not doing any type of post-secondary stuff for now since his career's going really well.

EDIT: And isn't that the guy who made the epic esports speech about MKP?

Maybe Maru won a non GSL match at 13, before GSL started? I think there were some tournaments before the first GSL tournament but not many notable Korean tournaments.

It's not like these guys are playing RTS for the first time, they are actual pros who spent theirs days practicing the game! Also there was Brood war before for years, so how is it possible that a pro player (or even semi-pro) would have 600 gaz banked up before throwing down the spire, without ling speed? It even seem like they can't continuously produce workers? I'm honestly very confused, I've heard people say diamonds or even plat players today could compete in the early GSLs and I never believed them until now. I always tought these weirds 1 base build people were doing in WOL were just the best (or at least decent) responses to the prevalent meta. (I started watching with HOTS)

He's 13 western age in this video. He's 14 korean age. They have a slightly different system.

Players were teeerrrible. People still occasionally will post "_____'s most dominant game" matches from 2014 or whatever and even those are borderline unwatchable. Current diamond players really would be cleaning up.Show nested quote + On June 26 2018 03:17 Syn Harvest wrote: I rewound and watched that game and holy fuck was everyone terrible back then That actually boggles my mind. Nostalgia is always nice, even if it's brief.

I remember watching NASL on the couch with my friend after school, then going home and watching the rest of it as I tried to multi-task my homework. I was in early high school then and now I'm a real adult having to have a job lol. Funny how time flies; I miss the old days, even if the skill wasn't as high. Watching TSL3 and NASL and shit like this will always have a special place in my heart.
