Heading into the penultimate week of SSL Challenge, (T)Bunny looked to solidify his position atop the table with a win over (Z)soO, while (T)ByuN tried to keep pace with a critical match against (Z)Rogue.

http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/2017_StarCraft_II_StarLeague_Season_2/Challenge

ByuN went for a tank push in game one, but was interrupted by Rogue's nydus worm. A tank, marine and mine whittled away at Rogue's economy while ByuN held at home with tanks and liberators. Rogue dove in one final time, but was cleaned up and promptly left the game.

ByuN started game two with a hellbat push which was deflected by Rogue's queens and zerglings. ByuN added in cloaked banshees, but was caught unaware by another nydus worm that brought a swift end to game two.

Rogue opened with the one base ravager build on Overgrowth. He killed a fair number of workers, but was unable to crack ByuN's cyclones. Rogue reloaded and went for it again, but ByuN had a banshee. That, plus the cyclones prompted a concession.

Rogue defended against all manner of aggression while killing workers with zergling and baneling run bys in the next game. He held a 20 worker lead for much of the game and used it to build a ling/hydra/bane army with infestors, vipers and ultralisks that eventually ran ByuN over.

Game five took place on Frost. Rogue's zerglings were caught out on the map as ByuN's hellions and liberators killed 15 drones. Rogue jammed into ByuN's natural, but only killed four SCV's. Facing an insurmountable worker deficit, Rogue left the game, giving ByuN the 3-2 win.

In match 2, soO survived Bunny's hellbats on even footing, but a pair of drops, the first in his main and the second at his fourth inflicted critical damage. All the while, his hydralisks attacked Bunny's third, but could not raze infrastructure. soO's army was eventually cleaned up, giving Bunny a 1-0.

soO evened the series on Newkirk Precinct. After defending early hellion drops and hellbats, soO expanded aggressively, with his ling/bane/hydra/viper composition buying him the time needed to add in ultralisks and crush Bunny's mech.

Bunny opened game three with hellions and ravens, carving a massive army supply lead. soO kept a healthy worker count and, while his mutalisks managed to kill 29 SCV’s and Bunny’s third, Bunny's bio/mine/liberator push went unopposed, putting him ahead 2-1.

Bunny and soO entered the mid game with Bunny ahead on supply with soO defending a push on his fourth before adding in ultralisks. Bunny attacked soO’s six o'clock base, but soO held on. Mining far less than his opponent, Bunny was eventually overwhelmed by a flood of Zerg.

With the series on the line, soO lost 12 workers to hellbats, but managed to max out despite operating at a supply disadvantage for a long time. With Bunny bearing down on his natural, soO’s hydralisk run-by gutted Bunny's third to create an opening. soO held back at home before pushing out, taking the match 3-2.

In the final series of the day, (T)jjakji opened with a proxy two rax in game one, but (Z)Impact shut it down with hardly any losses. He got up to three bases and, despite losing 11 workers to a liberator and banshees, he forced a lift on jjakji's third with ling/bane/ravager/muta and ultimately a gg.

Game 2 did not go as swimmingly, as Impact quickly lost 14 drones to hellions. The appearance of a cloaked banshee was the straw that broke Impact's back and got jjakji on the scoreboard.

Having gained a slight lead in game three after a doom drop in Impact’s main, jjajki gathered his forces, setting up a literal minefield outside Impact's fourth. The Zerg army evaporated before the fight even began, making it easy for jjakji to mop up and take the win.

Going for an even more abrupt white flag than his game two effort, Impact left the game and the series the moment his nydus worm into jjakji's main was shut down by bio/tank. The 3-1 gave jjakji his first win of SSL, while eliminating any chance of a Fast Lane: Day One finish or better for Impact.
