Why do you imply it's about my favorite players? I even said that i don't think Zest would deserve it in his fanclub. The point is that i absolutely believe that this shouldn't be a popularity contest, there still is a good amount of money on the line and it's one of the only chances to see foreigners vs koreans. It really should be the best players competing against each other here in my opinion. Apparently it's not the highest priority for blizzard and i cannot change that, i still point out why i think it's wrong. I am no gumiho fan at all for example, but he defintiely deserves it more than Byun. sOs has no business at all being there atm. The reality is that it's all about which fanbase votes the most/is the biggest. I think that's a bad approach.

I think you misunderstood something here, my point do not only apply for sOs (I didn't vote anyway), it really applies to any player. You want the vote to be a "power rank", but this kind of vote will always turn out to be a "fan contest", no matter you like it or not. GSL, SSL Premier and Blizzcon is where you should check for "power rank" type of event and not every single tournament has to be "power rank" based IMO.

I have to agree, voting to get in is not a good concept. minitournament for spots or another way of qualifying would be preferred from my side.
But still hyped to see the competition
Nerchios time to practise what he preaches as an EU Zerg Will be really interesting to see the levels of play of KR/EU in comparison before blizzcon.

Hopefully ByuN gets the terran vote, can't see the results without login, is he ahead? Can't have GSL vs The World without Blizzcon champion :D

At the moment, Gumiho is by far the more interesting player style, form and result wise. This whole discussion could be avoided if the players would qualify. If Byun would qualify, he will have earned it, same for Gumiho or any other player. This voting system just leaves a bitter taste.

The invited players should be the finalists of the first 2 seasons which would be Stats, Gumi, soO and the 4th best performing player in GSL.
GSL(!) All Stars without the reigning champion smh

Speaking of 'deserving spots', if people want it to be the best competing against each other than the only foreigner worthy of being in the tournament would be neeb.

Yeah well, it's tough to do a GSL vs The World competition if you don't invite people to represent 'The World'

But people want the best players, noone else in the foreigner scene deserves it. 9-16th places shouldn't get prize money imo.

People do not want the best players, not for this event. People want foreigners vs koreans and that's exactly what we get. The number of Koreans and foreigners has to be equal for this, otherwise it would just be another Kespa Cup.
Everybody has been begging Blizzard for more foreigners vs korea competion.
If we want to watch the best players we watch the GSL, SSL, Kespa Cups and IEM Shanghai.
This event is about something completely different.
Players should have to win at least one series to win money imo, the prize money only being distributed among the top 8 would be fine imo. The bottom 8 get another shot at winning something in the team competition.

Let me remind you that there are multiple foreigners in Code S this season and Neeb isn't one of them despite trying to get in. Not that easy to say Neeb is the only one then.
