Every tournament could have a better structure tbh. loser's brackets are barely seen other than in qualifiers. But if they only had a certain amount of time a 16 player single elim is probably all they could do
Zest, sOs, PartinG, Dark, and Maru are the real champs. ROOT_herO is overrated. Snute, Serral, and Scarlett are the foreigner GOATs

iAsonu really generating some hype for this with his performance at IEM.

The seemingly weakest player beating both GSL champs certainly makes this more interesting.
Maru and Serral are probably top 5.

Why are only 2 foreigners playing each other in the first round? Luck?

To be honest I'm surprised that not all of them are Korean vs foreigner.

Then again the 2011 GSL WC was also 6 KvF, 1 KvK and 1 FvF in the Ro16.

To elaborate, the eight invited players each got a separate part of the bracket and Gyuri drew each of their opponents from a pool of the eight voted players.

TY has a decent chance at making it to the finals from his side of the bracket

I'm also a bit disappointed in the format of the tournament. I think that not every game needs to be on the main stream, so having a losers bracket or a group stage would be preferable. But I get it that for some it's unacceptable to have a b stream - it also might double the production costs. Single elimination is great for the organizer but too harsh for the players in a game like this which is inherently unbalanced (3 races), and pretty volatile too.

sOs tho. PvP is Neeb's weakest MU and favors the unpredictable sOs. TY vs sOs Ro8 is all but guaranteed. And TY just never wins against sOs.

soO or Inno have the best bracket, and I would not be surprised to see both of them in the finals.

Gyuri drew the bracket on stream

To elaborate, the eight invited players each got a separate part of the bracket and Gyuri drew each of their opponents from a pool of the eight voted players.

the foriegn players' ballots were placed in a meat freezer at -20C for 3 hours before the drawing; Gyuri knew if it was a foreign player ballot he was touching when he picked it.
