We'll see of course. I wish her luck and I'm sure it will be a fun group either way I'm pretty sure she can beat them offline as well (she beat ByuN online in NW already), TvZ isn't as Terran favored as TvP, it just appears that the 4 top terrans are really good, so she has as much of a shot as any other top zerg in the MU (yeah, Koreans included).
However she has to pass her group first and I always feel that such declarations from foreigners bring bad results, so hopefully she didn't jinx herself up. I hope she'll qualify so we can see another foreigner in a bo5 at GSL, this will bring back the hype from NaNiwa/HuK GSL days. The fact that she didn't get an invite but qualified the same way everyone else did is the icing on the cake :D.

Well she has a shot, but I personally wouldn't put money on it.
I am inclined to agree with you that she has similar chances to top Korean Zergs.....but none of them are doing very well in ZvT either.
Whatever the reason (blah blah patchterrans, blah blah balance whine, blah blah salt), Terran is doing well in general and ByuN, INnoVation, Maru and TY are in a league of their own. In the past two months' TvZ matches, they've got winrates from 69% (ByuN) to 91% (Maru). Their TvP winrates are even better, ofc. ^I like to call those 4 the Terran Tetrarchy, because they certainly seem to be ruling the current scene.
In comparison, I'd say the best Korean Zergs are probably Solar, ByuL, soO, and Dark. GSLTV has shown us soO and ByuL both going down 2-9 against Inno and Maru respectively. ByuL also failed to take a map from Inno in their GSL group. Solar didn't take a map off of TY, and got knocked out of GSL entirely.
That leaves Dark, who put up an excellent showing at IEM and is widely considered the best Zerg anyhow. Given that he beat Byun 3-2 and lost to Inno 2-3, I'd give him a 50/50 shot against any of the Tetrarchs.
Unless Scarlett is as good as Dark (its possible, I guess) I very much doubt she can trade evenly with ByuN or INnoVation in an offline match that everyone takes seriously, i.e. GSL.
Of course, Scarlett is very skilled and fully capable of taking a game off even the best Terrans. But my own prediction at least, is that she won't be able to win a Bo5/Bo7 against ByuN or INnoVation.

He isn't wrong

I guess its good to be confident? Too bad she won't make it past aLive and Classic.
|
aLive is in really good form right now and Classic has always been top protoss. Good luck to her

Guys, please. Anybody that followed Scarlett over the years knows that you should take such interviews and statements with a grain of salt. Shes like a Pro in trolling! Shes playing mind games already.
|
Nice interview. But do not ignore aLive, he is one of the TIMBA group (Ty Inno Maru Byun Alive), XD. GG Scarlett!
|
Alive is really good those days though. I would think Classic more beatable.

good luck sasha <3
as to the people pesting about her chances and what she says+ Show Spoiler +.. wow! none of you know how it is on the big stage.. she does! Shes been on them and she could be riding/milking some "past glory" train.. she's not! she is still going at it full throttle against the WORLD's best players in THEIR house !..! So maybe be hopeful for her doing better each time and CHEER her on, no? She talks about practice because you peeps might not have the information (actual stats on ladder), the rest (tournament results) is easy to see. Also, she is awesome smart/fun AND she is preparing a tournament, so being "trolly" or "hyped" seems more than obviously a good thing.. ever heard of player psychology (her own and her opponents' reading what she says here or there)? #scarlett fitttttttiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing!!!!!!!!!!!!
edit: sorry, forgot, thank you olli for the interview / we all jealous

This is a good interview and I respect Scarlett's confidence much than other foreign players who raised last year. She knows her strenght, but her weaknesses too. It is true that practice doesn't tell you anything for the victory in a offline tournament. Actually the most accomplished pros got usually grandmaster Top 40 or tob 50 in ladders. In other interviews progamers usually share that they usually lose in ladder and they know how the learn from it. And yes, it is completely different in offline tournaments, so we shall see. Scarlett always feels confident against terrans, there is nothing new here, I remember when she beat Bomber in 2013 too. Of course, I hope for Classic to move on.

For a player of scarletts skill its always possible to beat anyone. Can she do it ? Yup. Likely? Depends on the player. Entirely possible that she gets crushed too? Yes.
We will have to wait. Wishing her best of success!

Man... sadly, i can see Myungsik rushing carriers on her face and knocking her down 2-1

Gotta love all the backseat coaches telling a pro-gamer with years of experience that she doesn't really know she's talking about or even lying about her winrates ...

I don't think there's anything wrong with what she said, all she said was that she's confident and being confident is always good.
But yeah, I wouldn't put my money on her if she faces Byun or INnoVation in an offline bo3/bo5.

I hope she doesn't underestimate Myungsik...

Good luck, Scarlet. Thanks for the interview.
