Maybe he was unsatisfied with the direction of the game aswell and had the past SC2 feeling in mind when returning. I'm sure you can find some of his quotes about it when he was playing Heroes. One thing he brought up then was how he liked playing with his brother (understandable) and the team aspect made it more like a comradeship I guess? Then again when he ditched Heroes he said he didn't like how the team aspect marginalized your individual contribution towards the final results and a solo-game like Starcraft was more gratifying. So take that for what you will.

i mean since his so-called 'comeback', its not like he has done something. he didn't stream and rarely participated in ANY tournaments (afaik this dreamhack was like the second tourney he was in?)

I feel like this kind of situation/attitude from players is a good reason to dismiss esports or not take it seriously. Not as a whole, of course, but this does kind of seem like a "kids playing games" kind of thing as opposed to professionals in a competitive environment. Of course, this is nothing compared to a certain little French boy who enjoys playing video games.
