I think it's a shame that the instant a Korean player gets up there and doesn't give the standard, "My opponent was very challenging, I have to keep practicing hard, thanks to the fans, thanks to my team...." interview, they're labeled as arrogant. The man fucking won an SSL and got fairly deep in GSL, but still didn't forget to thank his team and fans in the process. So what he makes some jokes about being the best at SC2 in the world right now? He IS.

Dominant heels are something that SC2 badly needs to inject more flair into the top scene (huge void w/ Life and PartinG gone). Dark had the aura of a champion from the beginning. Calm, collected, and that Life/Maru/PartinG look, where they know, that you know, that everyone knows, that they are better at the game than you will ever be. My lasting takeaway, was that w/ the entire SKT coaching staff present, the full team dressed in uniform, God and legends of old in attendance (the Emperor, Boxer himself), not a single person went into his booth between games (from the VODS I watched) to offer any help/advise. Whereas Stats w/ all his vast experience, had the KT assistant coach and their Z line of Leenock/Losira, desperately advising between every game. It was one of the biggest swag statements I've ever witnessed. And to dominate playing essentially your entirely personalized meta was astounding. Not a single infestor or viper in 6 games. Don't think a single roach/ravager in 4 of them. Not a single lurker in any game. Not a single muta in any game. I was rooting hard for Stats as the heavy underdog, and especially for all his cumulative years of loyal supporting service to KT, always putting the importance of Proleague above his personal ambitions. Figured going in, that Dark would likely win many more going forward, whereas this could very well be the closest Stats would ever come to that ultimate individual glory. Valdes continually crediting himself for predicting Dark would rise up to become very good, based on watching his PL play last year is laughable. That might have been the single most obvious inevitability of them all for everyone that followed the scene. I have a long-standing PL iMessage thread w/ my two friends, and after seeing his evolutionary LBC style, along w/ the game where he rushed every tech possible off of two-base, it became clear that in addition to his glaring talent, he much more importantly saw the game on a different plane than his peers. I told our thread then, that come LOTV, Dark would be the best in the world.

PartinG is the most arrogant player there is and people love him for that.
