CJ Bunny wins Code S by default.
On Jan. 29th, Bunny was supposed to play against Life, a player of Afreeca Freecs. The game was expected to be a close match, because the two players' record against each other is 1-1
... The reason of his disqualification is non-participation; he did not attend to the match within the time appointed. Because Feb. 5th is the last day of Code A and Code S starts its schedule on Feb. 17, there`s no time to wait for Life considering that he was restricted from participating tournaments during investigation.

I'm assuming that he didn't actually win the entire tournament so I added a word to the title.

Misleading title. For a moment I thought that GSL folk went nuts and made Bunny GSL champion.
EDIT: OK, it's fixed now.

Oh, I used 'win' as an acquirement. Did not know that there`s a chance of misleading.

Don't worry about it! I'm guessing English is not your first language. Really appreciate your constant updates from the Korean media. Keep it up!

Still no announcement as to Life's charge or lack of charge? I'm not sure if we can interpret this as good news in that they still haven't announced a ban for Life or bad news in that they are already moving on without him.

I mean if Life is guilty which sounds like he is, this was expected. If it did turn out he was innocent, man that would be shitty for Life.

This isn't good news for Life...

time doesnt wait. congrats to bunny. who knows, maybe he still wouldve won legitimately if they played.

I don't think this necessarily implies anything about Life's guilt, just that he's unavailable to play the games right now. The situation remains as such that he is quite likely to be guilty based on the circumstances of his arrest, and we can only hope that he's somehow innocent

Interesting, I would have expected KeSPA to have banned Life already, yet there's no mention of that. Could it be that there's not enough evidence to declare him giulty?

Nah you dont get points if the Anti-Team player loses, Although I think you should. I thought that at first as well, so I specifically chose players I thought would lose specific matches, but that completely backfired since you dont get points and then trying to trade them is difficult when ya can only go up to a higher point player

KeSPA banning a player in independant from Korean law though, so they could probably do it without complete investigation

It would suck really hard if in the end it's revealed that Life was innnocent all along. That's quite a while you can't participate.

Sucks for Life if it turns out that the charges aren't justified.

Interesting wording in that it's not even said he can't participate because of being arrested, just that he's prevented from participating in tournaments because of the investigation. Someone had a good point in the thread about Life, KeSPA had had their own PRIME investigations so they were probably confident enough to move quick to ban because of that the last time. This time this makes the impression they know about as much as the public.
|
So, does that mean that Life is banned or what?

Or they rather not announce anything because they're still digging for more. Waiting until they have the entire picture. At this point, given the time it already passed, the chance of Life walking always is pretty slim...

No idea why lots of people are complaining that Bunny unfairly got through. In individual sports (within a tournament bracket format), if one side for whatever reason is unable to compete, the other automatically advances. In tennis, even in the biggest Grand Slam tournaments, if someone due to injury/illness/or any other unforeseen circumstance is unable to compete, their opponent automatically advances. No matter if it's the RO64 or the grand finals.

I don't know where this false information is coming from. KESPA don't do these investigations by themselves. It's all handled by police/prosecutor with KESPA being there to supply any help if necessary.

I think it comes from the point, that the KeSPA knew about the Prime investigation all time and helped the police.
But this time even KeSPA didnt know about it and was hit by the news as much as we have been.
At least thats what I understood.

Well, here is where this information is coming from. I can't read the Korean due to... well... "not-knowing-any-Korean-at-all"... but I'd assume whoever wrote this news does understand the sources. :-P

congratz to Bunny. my only real criticism of the guy is the name he chose. he needs to change his name to MountainLion or Alligator or some other predator. the vision of an animal eating carrots just doesn't exactly intimidate me.
